I think Anderson should explore drop passing next time he's on a breakaway. Never seen anyone with worse hands get that many opportunities.
The player I want to see MORE from is Slaf.
I am slightly nervous about his actual ceiling.

Shaun, Slaf will be a 40-50 point guy, in his peak years he could put up 60-70. And that's okay because the NHL needs mediocre guys too. Too much preasure was put on him, the second or third line is his spot. In the meantime who replaces him on the top line? We just don't have the talent as of yet.

Trade for Crosby as Pens need a rebuild and Habs need a center key player to put them into the cup run. Players like MATHESON. ANDERSON. DVORAK, ROY, 2 FIRSTS., 2 SECOND ETC. ETC., HABS NEED CROSBYS SOUL FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS AT 40 IS THE KEY WITH HAGE AND DEMIDOV, FOWLER , NEXT YEAR. IS OUR NEED FOR RHD SOLVED BY REINBACHER. Keep Evans with Beck and Armia for our shutdown line with some scoring and the playoffs. Ya' gottta' believe..
Reply Evans will get a first at best but his value is more than he will get on the market. Defense is key in playoffs……

What they’re gonna be up to and what they should do is two different things
Again , I’ve said it on here a million times , my opinion is , if they’re gonna sell than sell the dead wood , not Armia, not Evans . Trade gallgher and his 6.5, trade Laine and his 8.7 , make room on the cap and give yourself room to pull big trades
Why aquire marginal mid round draft picks where they already have 12 picks at the draft, so they can go look for other players to replace Armia and Evans on the pk ? It make zero sense , get rid of gallagher and Laine
Look at the congestion in Laval! Do you need more 3rd and 4th rounder to go rot in the AHL, all this is causing is congestion and prospects development is affected
Look at the perfect example , in the last two weeks , there has been a lot of injury in Laval, this translate in moving Farrell in the 2nd line , he who was forgotten and stuck on the fourth line all year , in his last 8 games after being moved up , Farrell has been a pts beast , 4 multiple pts games in his last 8 games for a total of 10 pts in 8 games , the largest production by a Laval player on an 8 game stretch this season
Beside what are they gonna get for Evans ? A late 3rd rounder and a career AHLer?
Enough of the lateral moves to aquire patches or to create even more congestion in Laval and wasting picks on players who will never be given a chance
Montreal need to move players and picks to aquire a player that will be in Montreal for years and actually make an impact and please stop acquiring wingers! I’m not a gm and I don’t know what’s gonna happen but lateral moves and acquiring mid round picks is counter productive at this point any way we look at it
At team can realistically only move 2 rookies up a year , the habs have Farrell, Davidson , demidov , Roy, mailloux, reinbacher , engstrom , Trudeau , Bogdan , tuch, xhekaj , Hage, Harris , volokhin , Thorpe ect ect , do the habs organization think these players development won’t be affected and that some of these players will accept to play in the AHL till they’re 27 ?
The rebuilt through the draft is over , they have way too many prospect and too many picks . The only part of the rebuilt is wait for the prospect we have to develop in the nhl and trade the excess to aquire impact players
How more obvious can it get? Hugues even said at the beginning of the season that he wasn’t interested in lateral moves!
As for Reinbacher , keep dreaming . This guy is an Austrian version of Mike Komisarek , only Reinbacher isn’t physical at all
I can’t believe you guys still have faith in the habs scouting staff after so many blunders . They were lucky with Hutson and they had no other choice but to pick demidov after the michkov fiasco or the fans would have rioted if they didn’t pick demidov
But in resume here are the major and un excusable picks from the habs scouting staff
Slafkovsky instead of Cooley , Mesar instead of lambert , reinbacher instead of michkov , Leonard and 10 other players which would have been a better choice , they also pay 3 picks to pick Hage when Greentree went 26th , the original spot where the habs were suppose to be picking
Some fans and media can dream and make themselves believe that reinbacher was the right choice but the reality is , this is the kotkaniemi blunder 2.0
Something big needs to happen, there’s no room for Roy , there’s no room for Trudeau , there’s no room for primeau , there’s no room for bogdan or volokhin , so why let them rot? Package them along with picks and players and go get a decent player
Just an example : package Roy , matheson and picks and go get something decent , or Slafkovsky, picks and prospect and go get an impact player
Right now the only players that I wouldn’t trade would be , Suzuki, caufield , Hutson , xhekaj , Heineman , Armia and Dobes , Suzuki caufield and Hutson because their very friendly contracts and xhekaj , Heineman , Dobes and Armia cause the habs will never receive what they’re actually worth in a trade
If they trade Evans and Armia and dvorak and Savard for picks , that I would package all those picks to move up in the draft , cause 3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th rounder are worth shit and rarely into impactful NHLers
For example , let’s say the Calgary pick that Montreal owns ends up being like 15th overall , I would use all the picks needed aquire in those deadline trad to move into the top 10
But if you’re gonna play the go through the draft excuse , than pick a fucking lane and stick with it , trade all the deadwood and tank, enough of this unsure decision making , keep dvorak for faceoff purpose and clean house , give the ice time to prospects and quit wasting time on guys who won’t be here in two years , trade Evans , Anderson , Laine and Gallagher
Sick of seeing trades to get rid of our good role players like lehkonen in exchange for garbage so we can later waste 1st and 2nd rounders on losers like Dach and newhook, 2 players who produce less than Armia and Evans
Seriously how is that productive Shawn? I’m asking you, do you think trading Evans and Armia for mid draft picks and paying 1st and second rounder for Dach and newhook productive or good for a rebuilt? I don’t think so🤷🏼♂
I wanna see Laine on the top line
Slaf has to do less watching the coach after every move on the ice and do more using that body to make things happen.
Dach also has to start using his body to make some confusion happen in the offensive zone and strut some talent
Liane is a one trick pony…..he has a wicked shot…..but nothing else. He doesn't know how to position himself when he doesn't have the puck.
People are calling for Liane on the first line…….DUMB MOVE by a coach……put Gallagher on the top line (he is a poor man's version of Sydney Crosby) and can light a fire under that first line. Brendan will put the pressure on the defense while Caulfield & Suzuki can do a lot of damage to the opposition.
