Birmingham took a shock lead inside the first minute through Ethan Laird, but Newcastle hit back with goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson. Tomoki Iwata’s stunning strike levelled the game again before halftime, setting up a tense second half. The match was full of heavy challenges and late drama, but Willock struck again in the 82nd minute to send Newcastle to the next round!

  1. Is it me or have they dubbed in the commentators reaction to the 4th goal? Sure it's the same two guys doing the ITV highlights….

  2. Enjoying no VAR era, when the decision back to ref's judgement, for the moments of goal line decision for Newcastle and possible offside in Birmingham's equalizer goal where there is an attacker disturbing keeper's view.

  3. Birmingham players should be proud as taking Newcastle all the way…No wonder they are pace setters in League One.
    With such performance, obvious they can go on for promotion next season !

  4. Doesn't really show on here but for the ghost goal the linesman is flagging for a Birmingham freekick. So, either the linesman gave the wrong signal or the Ref over ruled the linesman and awarded a penalty. Would be interesting to hear the officials explanation for the goal award, as I find it hard to believe a lino at this level wouldn't know how to flag for a goal.
