Hyderabad: The historic Golconda Fort served as a stunning backdrop for the 12th edition of the TiE CEO Golf Tournament, held at the Hyderabad Golf Club on Saturday morning. The event brought together corporate leaders and entrepreneurs, blending the spirit of competition with high-powered networking.
With 95 players, including 35 from outside Hyderabad, the tournament saw participation from top executives of global giants such as Bank of America, Nike, Salesforce, McDonald’s, and Apollo.
“Golf is a sport that makes you humble. A single round teaches you more about a person’s character than multiple business meetings,” said Murali Bukkapatnam, newly elected global chair of TiE global board of trustees 2025.
“Since we launched this tournament in 2012, it has become a vital platform for young entrepreneurs to connect with senior leaders who bring invaluable insights and experience,” Bukkapatnam added.
The Golconda Golf Course, set against the 12th-century fort, provided a unique intersection of heritage and sport. BVK Raju, president of the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA), highlighted its distinctive charm: “This is one of the finest golf courses in harmony with heritage. With 2,700 members, we’re not just promoting golf — we’re also giving these heritage monuments a renewed purpose.”
Organised by TiE Hyderabad, the tournament underscored the deepening ties between sports and business networking in the city. TiE, a global non-profit with 63 chapters across 15 countries, has partnered with HGA for over a decade to foster these meaningful connections.
“Golf is the ultimate leveller,” Raju added. “Ego doesn’t work here. The game demands patience, precision, and discipline — traits that define great business leaders.”
