  1. Mountcastle is a gold glove finalists AGAIN. They moved the WALL back in and has to share time with Ohearn I think you guys just don't see him enough. He is not an A or B. He's definitely better than the rest.

  2. Having Spencer Horwitz at the absolute bottom is certainly a choice… Projections are just projections, but Fangraphs has Horwitz having the 11th best wRC+ among all 1B this season. 27th among all NL players.

  3. I understand it being a little tricky with LaMonte Wade Jr if you haven’t watched him. If you look at his numbers before he got hurt last year he was on an absurd pace. He was first in OBP at one point midway through the season. I love Wilmer, but the Giants need Wade out there everyday this season. I watched damn near every game he played last season, and I couldn’t tell you where to place him. I just know the Giants need him out there and healthy.

The lead off thing is a little tricky. He got most of those lead off starts because of the Jung Hoo Lee injury and Bob Melvin scrambling to figure things out. Let’s not forget Jorge Soler was our lead off guy for weeks before he got traded.

  4. Do these guys just not watch the orioles at all lol. Mountcastle is their everyday 1st baseman. Left feild wall moving in is gonna bump up his numbers dramatically

  5. I think this list shows exactly why the 1st base market wasnt rly there this off season. Every team has a guy they at least believe in or has shown flashes of being good. it’s pretty exciting for the sport honestly

  6. Unfortunately I think the Reds are going to play 1B by committee. The depth and guys moving around makes things volatile. CES, Candy, Steer and Stephenson are all gonna see time.

It mostly depends on whether Noelvi Marte does well enough to win back 3b and move Candelarionto 1B, CES will likely play 1B whenever Stephenson catches

  7. Unpopular opinion S tier should be A tier. There's no 1B playing at an S tier level right now.

  8. Vladdy is a really good player but hes over hyped imo. I mean other than the fact that hes 3-4 years younger im not sure why people talk like hes worlds better than Pete Alonso? I mean look at their career stats they are practically identical with Pete leading in HR, RBI and SLG. Petes only played 27 more career games and he has 66 more career HR and 79 more career RBI,. Both started the same season. Vladdy leads slightly in the other rate stats and career WAR is 21.5 for Vlad and 19.8 for Pete. Vladdy career OPS+ 137, Alonso career OPS+ 134. They are basically the same player, you want a little more well rounded, go with Vlad, you want a typical power bat 1st baseman, go with Alonso. This is not a shot at Vladdy, id love to have him on my team, im genuinely trying to understand why people talk about him in the same class as the elites in the game? Is it untapped potential people see? I dont get to watch him enough to know..

  9. As a white sox fan, vaughn is what he is. Nothing great. Low power numbers at 1b and doesn't have a great avg. He's just a warm body out there.

  10. Michael Busch is being slept on I think had a 118 ops+ in152 games last year and was a pretty great defender by the end of the year

  11. I'm tired of the Pete Alonso slander. He's about to break the Mets all time HR record. Matt Olson is not better than him

  12. Am I the only one who watched a few padres games last year and thought arraez passed the eye test at first?

  13. As an NL East fan that Luke Raley section blew my mind lmao some of these guys had me in a mental pretzel

  14. I will forever love Nathaniel Lowe for helping deliver us our first World Series title – but he has his flaws, and the trade made sense.

Texas swapped 2 seasons of arbitration-elevated Lowe years for 4 cost-controlled Burger seasons. Lowe was very serviceable, but he just wasn’t improving anywhere. Outside of 2022 SS season, he regressed against lefties, will not hit for power, and he absolutely cannot hit fastballs which was a massive hole exposed by opponents last year.

The real reward was Robert Garcia though. It was essentially trading Lowe for Robert Garcia, Burger, and Joc (Burger and Joc crush FBs btw).

Just wait for what Robert Garcia does this season!

  15. I understand why Horwitz would be in that bottom tier as a 1st year starter, but he’s basically the same guy as Wade. He’ll be the Pirates lead off guy. There’s some Muncy/Slamtana vibes with him

  16. This is how you know fantasy baseball is a sham because as a PROUD spencer steer owner who doesn’t follow much Reds baseball, I was aghast hearing his name that low and then i checked his stats, the guy single handedly won me my season, pretty nuts

  17. Wilson Contreras: Hasn't played 1B, 48 Runs, 36 Ribbys, 79 Hits… "Let's put him in the 3rd tier.

    Colt Keith: Hasn't played 1B, 54 Runs, 61 Ribbys, 134 Hits… "Let's throw him at the bottom."

The Detroit doubt continues to stay strong within the Jomboy Media group.
