  2. Yeah I see why everybody says Simon is the only reason why to come here these they could put on a f**** fantastic show and they will literally still say it's a seven The camera angles with jacked up All they didn't have enough people in the crowd or the crowd wasn't miked up or the insurance music was too loud or they did something stupid in a storyline so it ruined the whole event for them you see what I'm doing here it's called moving to Gold Post You're never going to be happy with this product what a culture quit f**** grifting and just stop covering aew you guys don't like the product

  3. It was a great event. If someone gives you the best glass of wine you've ever had, are you going to complain about getting it in a cup instead of a glass?

  4. So I thought they put a ton into the puppet bit, also they had 2 puppets the second one had a mad face instead of happy. That’s why it was so brilliant

  5. Great show, fellas! I personally disagree on Omega. To me he looks slightly better than he did pre-injury, as towards the end you could see he was really struggling with his knees. And the time off looks to have done him good in that regard. On the match overall, just not for me. And as often Sidgwick left me feeling very old.

To offer a counter argument as Hamflett rarely does, whilst I could see they were giving a great deal of thought to what they were doing, for me they were incredibly guilty of smothering their work in places. Mainly in the first third, which felt largely courteous and obligatory – in a mad dash to be able to get their stuff in on the back end. And I think if you think the average viewer grasped the story they were telling, and didn't just see alot of pretty moves, you're kidding yourself. And certainly not the crowd.

It all goes back to what I think it is to tell a story, and that the older guys aren't that great at conveying when they say people don't do it now. Essentially what they're saying is you just work too hard. Years ago telling a story was used to help carry a match, so you didn't have to do as much. And that was the art and the work. Now, in some circles it's largely become this thing to just give a match integrity, as for me was the case here. Which is a shame. They didn't work the story or attempt get it over to any great degree at all, which as I've already hit on for me kinda made it pointless.

That and one thing on the back end just drove me crazy. The counter from the duel finishers into the pair of simultaneous tombstones just far too cutesy. You've now gone and took a match where you've, somewhat feebly in my mind, tried to make it some about the moves and some about the emotion – and gone and in turned it into just moves. Hence the immediate "fight forever" chants and lost any immersion. Then, when you go back to trying to make it about the emotion, as Ospreay did shortly after with protecting Omega and some other things, it's been sadly lost.

Forgive my rambles. Just felt like an occasion for it. Great work as always!

  6. I must admit I thought this crowd was fantastic, was coming through fine for me watching on Triller. And I've heard this a few times on this show from you guys when I've heard hot crowds and you haven't. Could be something to do with which devices we're on?

  7. In-person, and after the fact, i didn't notice it was a smaller ring.

Also, Sidge, you're pulling our legs if you think you know that they would've had the 20ft ring if they sold the stadium…

  8. Talking about sound, on the recording they turned it down for a few moments.
Ospreay's intro the crowd was deafening, the boo's for Fletcher, Metalingus was waaaay louder than it was recorded, they also turned down some of the crowd chats which had swearing.
There were two "f**k Don Callis" chants, and they were very loud.
The "rip her tits off" chants were loud in the main event, and they definitely turned down the crowd noise on the recording

  9. The main event had way too many near falls, Toni should have won after the 3 hip attacks into the Storm zero. Even tho the story was all the wins leading up were won with roll ups..

  10. Was a solid episode in a string of solid episodes. Dont ever talk about ring size for 20 minutes again please. Its a tiny issue pun unintended and for all you guys say you dont want to do the grift market that entire discourse was meaningless and contributed nothing to comment on the quality of the show. Do better boys been listening since the start of aew its got loads of problems but focusing on ring size for that long is bad faith trash conversation.
