Charlie Woods, son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, has been confirmed to play in the 2025 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, South Carolina, from March 19-22. Kai Trump, granddaughter of President Donald Trump, will also play in the women’s field at the same event.
The Sage Valley event is an invitation-only tournament that typically features the nation’s top junior players of both genders. According to a report by Golf Channel’s Bentley Romine, Charlie Woods is the 37th and final player on the list of male participants.
The report also quotes a tournament spokesman as saying that the registration process has not yet been completed to explain why there are 37 players listed in a tournament that normally has a field of 36 male players (24 in the case of the girls):
“At this time, we can confirm that the field is not finalized. As in the past, we will release the full field in both the boys and girls draw once it is. Please keep in mind that the tournament is 36 boys and 24 girls; that has not changed.”

The list of players currently available includes the top-ranked players in the country in both genders, including Luke Colton, Louis Klein, Miles Russell, Michael Riebe, Tyler Watts and Logan Reilly for the boys and Asterisk Talley, Gianna Clemente, Elizabeth Rudisill, Scarlett Schremmer and Avery McCrery for the girls.
The field will also include several top international players such as Nguyen Anh Minh, Lev Grinberg, Haoyi Wang and Hugo Le Goff.
Before that, Charlie Woods will play in the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship in Myrtle Beach, Florida, from February 28 to March 2. He will share the field with Cameron Kuchar, son of PGA Tour veteran Matt Kuchar.
The Myrtle Beach event will be Charlie’s first tournament since his grandmother, Kultida Woods, passed away on February 4. Charlie’s return will come just over a week after his father, Tiger Woods, also returns to competitive golf during the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) on Tuesday, February 18.
Charlie Woods, 16, has played in relatively few American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournaments. He has one individual victory, the 2023 Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship, and helped his school win the 2023 Florida High School Athletic Association Class A Golf Championship.
The youngest Woods has played alongside his father in the PNC Championship on several occasions, with two second-place finishes as his best result, including the 2024 edition.
As for Kai Trump, she hasn’t competed much either outside of the local circuits in Florida. She has had good results in the events his Benjamin Academy team competes in.
