The BEST WAY To Avoid Blow Out Holes

Aiming for the Trees?! A crazy idea but it works! 🙌⛳️

Alright, let’s talk about a situation that’ll really test your course management skills! This par 5 might not be long, but with water lurking on the entire right side, it’s a recipe for disaster if you’re not careful. (Don’t worry, I’m here to help you navigate it like a pro!)

Here’s the game plan for tackling this tricky hole:
– Identify the danger zone: Where CAN’T you go? In this case, it’s anywhere right of the fairway. (Seriously, that water is NOT your friend.)

– Aim away from trouble: This might seem counterintuitive, but I’m actually aiming at the trees on the LEFT side of the fairway! Why? Because I know my tendency is to miss right, and I’d rather be in the trees than the water.

– Don’t fear the trees: Remember, trees are NOT a lost ball. You can usually find it and have a swing at it. (Unless you’re REALLY unlucky and it ends up in a squirrel’s nest.) 🐿️ but we know that’s rare!

– Maximize distance, minimize risk: I’m taking driver here because the extra distance is valuable. But I’m also playing smart by aiming away from the water. It’s all about finding the balance between risk and reward.

– Stick to the routine: Even with all this strategizing, don’t forget the fundamentals! Clubface alignment, ball position, target focus… It’s the same routine every time.

Got it? Course management is all about making smart decisions that minimize risk and maximize your chances of avoiding penalties. So, next time you face a hole with trouble lurking, remember these tips and play smart! (And maybe say a little prayer to the golf gods while you’re at it. 🙏)
