  1. I don’t understand. You pivot your body and your arms follow for the correct grip. When you pivot your body and grip the club is the club face closed to the path you’re swinging in other words are you swinging across your body? Are you swinging inside out? When you shift your body? I would like to see you shift your body and then hit the ball, so I can see what you’re trying to teach

  2. eh… hot topic in golf. Giving examples like Fred Couples or Zach Johnson doesn't give the whole story (those players have practiced thousands of hours vs amateur players). Its hard to get to a great impact position without at least a a little flip because this grip has a tendency to shut the face in the backswing. Here is a better option explained by Tom Saguto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMdJ5XLxqY

  3. The single best analogy of what we do to ourselves to assure failure and look elsewhere as to why. Nothing to see here in the grip lets move on to a video with lines and angles drawn on a figure of the golfer we can ponder in the second it takes to mess up our move. As you said why bother when most of us are doomed before the first inch of take away. Great Job Jimmy, entertained and learning. By the way, nice tools..

  4. Jim, love your videos. I have been progressing through my lob, 56 degree, gap and pitching wedge so far. My questiion is, is it normal to lose about 10 yards off your clubs when you start? Thanks.

  5. I legit thought he was gonna hit the camera with that ax. Another great video coach. Also David Duval another amazing ball striker with a strong grip.

  6. Yeah, Lee Trevino another great ball striker, probably the best. If you watch him setup he grasps the club with a more neutral grip, but as he is dancing around he is gripping and regripping and then strengthens his grip right before he pulls the trigger. His right hand is under the club too.

  7. Hits home with more about it’s a “tool”. Was taught this at a range years ago. Hammer is a great comparison. Could one imagine your dentist holding his drill incorrectly? Yikes! I’ll try a even stronger grip. Thanks…by the way, grew up for Boom Boom

  8. I didn't know it was 'open mike night' at The Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard. James, love your instruction.🇯🇴😸🌵

  9. If you look at Couples grip set up his left wrist is cupped in a very extreme way. This is how he's able to fade the ball with the strong grip he has. Without that set up he probably would hook the ball a lot, which most strong grips promote. Tiger and Jack both played with neutral grips, while Trevino and Hogan used weak grips. The main thing being is all of them could adjust their grips to hit different shots when needed. Anyway, the grip shown in this video will work for some folks but not for all, that's because of the mechanics of each individuals swing. Different swings require different grips.

  10. So ben hogan sam sed seve ballesteros jack nicklaus Bobby brown we're all wrong you f up clown 🤡

  11. Jim is such a legend. I don’t like using his swing, cause it makes me feel retarded, but my dad uses it and he plays really well while looking retarded 😂❤ keep the lesson coming Jim! Hunnid

  12. I'm gonna try this but when using things like a hammer, you don't put your lead hand over the top of the shaft of the hammer. You hold it with your thumb over the top of that shaft. If you don't then your wrist can't hinge properly to use the hammer properly. I've always thought a golf club should be held the same way in the lead hand for proper wrist hinge. Am I wrong? Same thing with casting a fishing rod. You don't put your lead hand over the shaft of that rod to cast it properly, your thumb rests on top of that shaft so your wrist can hinge properly when casting it. As stated though I will give this method a try for sure.

  13. Guess I’ll try the grip. Wedges at local park have been lights out 0-110 yds. First range day, everything landed 100 yds. Longer irons no bueno at all. BUT. Can nail 50 yard shot lights out! All shots straight, but short.

  14. You know this is one of the best lessons I have had in my 40 years of playing golf. I wish I had heard this years ago and it would have saved me a ton of grief. All of the lessons I’ve had and they talked about grip but never have I heard right hand underneath. I applaud you

  15. How do you explain, Ben Hogan or Moe Norman using a weak grip. I agree, I would like to see slicers using a stronger grip though, 🤷‍♂️but there is so much more to consider than the grip, even though, it’s fundamental.

  16. This grip has made the game just so easy.
Played today and all shots are long and straight without any effort.
At 74 years of age I am playing maybe 10 handicap with this grip.
Jim I live in Kenya and owe you a safari on me.

  17. Jim. A must read. I turned 79 last Tuesday. Yesterday I watched GRFGolf and his “This slingshot drill will change your game.” I hope you’ll check it out. Then I watched this video. Went out to hit some balls on the range, and then played 5 holes. My first shot on the range was a 7 iron, dead straight and high, 165 yards. The first thing I noticed was my automatic, perfect release and my club face. The strike was dead center. Then I did it again and again. I then parred 4 out of five holes. The last hole, a par five, was left with 155 into the wind. Took the extra club (7Iron) and put it on the back of the green. Another 165 shot and 2 putt for par. What a great birthday present!

  18. Broke 85 yesterday after trying this on range. To me the key is smooth transition and the ball explodes off face.

  19. Hi Jim, this is the Eureka video, I used to have a strong grip but was told by other teachers to weaken my grip if I wanted to eliminate a hook, tried your grip method today and it produced the tight draw as prescribed, thanks so much for freeing me from the herd 👍

  20. Also forgot to add just swing smoothly and get rid of the kill the ball instinct, many thanks for all the great content.

  21. Jim's a life saver! Spent the last 1.5 years under his wings and I can say finally the swing is really locking in! As in, consistently. Loving this game so much these days!

  22. is the pivot move, a set up position, do you recommend setting up in this way ? and then swinging from that position while holding the club in that grip
