Dundee United and Fairmont St Andrews have agreed to a “strategic partnership”, which will see the Tayside outfit host their annual corporate golf days at the Fairmont as well as events for Business United, Dundee’s corporate networking scheme.

Fairmont St Andrews is a luxury five-star resort, situated on the outskirts of St Andrews. United’s home ground of Tannadice is just a half hour drive away.

Complete with a hotel and spa and two championship-calibre courses, it also boasts breathtaking views of the North Sea and the historic town of St Andrews itself.

The Fairmont is home to the Kittocks course and the Torrance course, both of which are regularly found inside Scotland’s top 100 rankings.

Ryder Cup hero Sam Torrance was the designer the course whichnow bears his name, with Bruce Devlin the man behind Kittocks course with assistance from legendary major winner Gene Sarazen, who won The Open, The Masters, the US Open and the PGA Championship during his career. He hit the “shot heard round the world” at Augusta National in 1935 en route to victory.

Kai Winkler, general manager of Fairmont St Andrews, said: “Fairmont St Andrews is thrilled to announce the partnership with Dundee United FC.

“We’re delighted to align with a historic club that has been at the heart of Scottish football for over a century.

“We take pride in delivering world-class hospitality and look forward to supporting the club, its players, and its passionate fan base.”

Mark Cunningham, head of commercial and sponsorship at Dundee United, added: “This partnership with Fairmont St Andrews represents a significant milestone for the club.

“Their commitment to quality and service aligns perfectly with our vision, and we are excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring to the football club.”
