When it comes to tough and uncompromising forwards, they don’t build them much tougher than North Sydney Bears Legend, Josh Stuart.

After growing up and playing in the Manly Sea Eagles Junior grades, Stuart would play 5 minutes for the Sea Eagles off the bench but would go on to Debut in the Winfield Cup with North Sydney, where he became an enforcer for the mighty Black & Reds alongside other legends like Billy Moore, Gary Larson, & Mario Fenech.

After going to close to making the grand final on a couple of occasions, Stuart would play in the final match of the North Sydney Bears before merging with Manly, and becoming a foundation member of the Northern Eagles and go on to play 2 season with the short-lived club.

Now the proud uncle of 4-time premiership winner, Nathan Cleary, Stuart loves watching his nephew play NRL, as well as supporting his brother-in-law Ivan Cleary, arguably one of the greatest coaches of all time, and still loves the game to this day.

What a legend. This is his story 🏉

  1. Excellent show again Dave , Josh's story was great value & amazing football pedigree which continues. Josh was an underrated hard nosed forward who always had that bit of class which elevated him & always menaced opposing forwards.
