I was shaking just like that out of nowhere. Couldn’t figure out why. So I started to move my upper body as one on it helped it. But this just made complete sense to me. Thanks man.
The other thing is the guy doesn't really go after the ball he just lets the club hit it, and that is a big reason why you shank it, you have to be intentional and go after the ball, hit through it and stay with it.
This has massively improved my chipping… although my main problem is/was thinning it across the green. To the point where if I get between 5 and 80 yards from the green I may as well just write down a blob, because it’s being thinned no matter what. Then probably back again. I guess from this, it’s excessive arm swing and not enough torso
The “glue on the arm” is created by external rotation in the trail arm.
A simple way to get it at address is to grip club with face 45° closed then rotate it back to square behind the ball which forces trail wrist into extension, trail elbow down and forearm into external rotation “gluing” elbow to body. It works to bring the face back to square at impact because at impact the hips aren’t parallel like at address they are 45° open.
The actual swing action is more hips moving AND SIDE BENDING of lumbar than arm using the entire mass of the upper body with lead arm pinned to it at the arm pit. Sounds weird but works a treat in the short game.
To groove the feel of the side bend component toss balls at the ground with trail arm externally rotated. Put club in trail hand and whack weed in the yard for practice.

The superglue thing is what would make me understand immediately
Suddenly started shanking every other shot this week. Loved to see this pop up.
Picture perfect shank. Well done!
One of the best short game coaches in the world.

Chest and arms rotate together. Is all in would tell him.
oooh yeah! =)
Still the club face is open at adress!!
Nice

We all learn in different ways. The way he teaches, that’s my way.
He’s to far from the ball. His practice swing was perfect. He needs to move closer to the ball and produce the same swing. You’re welcome 😂

Im hoping Dan see's this message, I have tennis elbow and i was wondering can that cause the shanks ?
Wow need some glue then
Hes too far away from the ball as well, i see people slicing it because theyre reaching out for the ball when they just need to stand a little closer
Gay… just make it feel like a putter
He did his practice swing and then didn't shuffle his feet forward to address the ball which is probably making that gap even worse
He was reaching for his glue 😂
He’s flexing hard with that wedge wear mark
What kind of wedge is this?? 56 degree?
Peep the wear mark on Dan’s wedge
🙌
i would need Dan on speed dial
“Great spin and control”
He’s just learnt not to shank a chip, let’s not start sucking him off just yet.
He said oh yeah before I did! 😂
I‘m now playing much better shots since watching this, but I’ve totally ruined my golf jacket after superglueing my right arm to it 😊
What a great tip for chipping. Anyone know where I can buy some golfer's arm glue from?
Why does it feel like I'm gonna pierce my ribs with my elbow?
Look, just simply let the club be sn extension of your shoulders and arms
