The strongest position to impact the ball is with the hands (grip) slightly ahead of the clubhead. Too far ahead and you thin it. Behind the clubhead is worse, the face has no chance of contacting the ball. The correct position, the slight lean, allows the maximum application of force to be absorbed by the body.
Impact with feet fat on the ground.. roll your ankles don't twist or turn them and you have lots of space to hit and you stay on top of the ball easier…
