If you’re day dreaming about green grass and being out on the golf course again, Golfweek recommends you picture yourself on this one.
Golfweek just released its top 200 best resort golf courses for 2025, and one Cape Cod course ranked in the top 100 of the list: Cape Cod National.
The course, which opened in 1998, ranked at No. 74.
“This list focuses on the golf courses themselves, not the resorts as a whole or other amenities,” Golfweek said.
To make the list, more than 800 raters rank the courses on a 10 criteria on a 10 point scale. It’s a rigurous process, and Golfweek says there are no perfect 10s.
“Only eight courses around the world with enough qualifying votes to appear on our top lists in 2024 are rated above a 9. An average rating above 8 indicates an incredible golf course. Anything above a 7 is worth traveling great distances to experience,” they said. “Courses with an average rating of 6 to 7 are probably the best course in most cities and in several examples are the top layout in an entire state.”
Cape Cod National — Best resort golf course in Massachusetts
The Cape Cod National, 174 S Orleans Rd., received an average rating of 6.59. It’s the highest rated course in New England.
“Cape Cod National Golf Club is a Par 72 championship course that is a true test for golfers, playing over 6,900 yards from the back tees and 5,800 from the forward tees,” the Cape Cod National website said. “The Brian Silva designed course has played host to a number of United States Golf Association (USGA) and Massachusetts Golf Association (Mass Golf) events since the 2010s,”
It tied with Omni Bedford Springs in Pennsylvania.
