The second LIV Golf tournament of 2025 tees off Thursday, on the heels of Poland’s Adrian Meronk claiming opening victory at Riyadh. The time zone shift is loopy — if you’re watching this tournament in the U.S., it’ll cut into the early a.m. hours. The par-72, 54-hole event opens with Spain’s Jon Rahm as the clubhouse favorite (+550 on BetMGM).

An American golfer has taken the first two Adelaide invitationals. Brendan Steele beat South African Louis Oosthuizen by one stroke last year, while Talor Gooch won the 2023 inaugural run by three.
England’s Tyrrell Hatton is second on the betting board to win it all at +700 odds; Bryson DeChambeau and Joaquin Niemann are knotted at third with +900.
There is also a group stroke play element here, with the various “GCs” (golf clubs) competing for team points. Last year’s winning squad, Ripper GC, had an all-Australian lineup captained by Cameron Smith, and 4Aces GC, led by Dustin Johnson, won team play in 2023. Legion XIII, Riyadh’s winning group, comprises Rahm, Hatton, Caleb Surratt and Tom McKibbin.
After February’s tournament, LIV Golf goes to Hong Kong (Mar. 9), Singapore (Mar. 16) and Miami (Apr. 6).
At Wednesday’s presser before the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, PGA’s Rory McIlroy indicated his support for reconciliation between the Tour and LIV Golf. “I think everyone’s just got to get over it, and we all have to say, ‘OK, this is the starting point, and we move forward,’” he said. “We don’t look behind us, we don’t look to the past.”
