Design and Technology
A standout feature across all G440 models is the integration of CarbonFly Wrap Technology. This lightweight composite material replaces traditional titanium in the crown, redistributing weight lower and deeper in the clubhead. This design enhancement results in a higher launch and increased ball speed, contributing to longer and more accurate shots.

The G440 series also introduces a taller face profile, boosting confidence at address and enhancing performance off the tee. The face thickness is optimized in the heel and toe regions to deliver more consistent performance on off-center strikes.

Additionally, the contoured sole design ensures the club sits flush to the ground, maintaining a consistent face angle regardless of loft or lie settings. This feature allows golfers to benefit from the multiple loft and lie options provided by the adjustable hosel.

Model Variations
G440 Max: Designed for a wide range of golfers, the Max model offers a combination of forgiveness, ease of launch, and versatility. It features a 4% taller face for added confidence off the tee and a maraging steel face wrap that extends into the crown and sole for increased face flexing, resulting in faster ball speeds and higher launch angles.

G440 LST: Aimed at players with faster swing speeds seeking lower spin and a more penetrating ball flight, the LST model incorporates a multi-material construction featuring a Ti-811 body, carbon crown, and an 85-gram tungsten sole plate for optimized weight distribution. It also features a new HST 220 High Strength Titanium face that enhances ball speed and distance.

G440 SFT: Designed to correct a slice, the SFT model promotes a draw bias to help golfers achieve straighter shots. It shares the maraging steel face wrap with the other models, enhancing forgiveness and distance. The 23g tungsten weight is positioned to encourage a draw, and the model is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts, with a high-launch (HL) version for slower swing speeds.

waiting for mine to arrive.
Great video. Very honest sounding. Keep it going.
Funny that Ping now feels the loft of a 4 wood is 17* as my “old” G425 5 wood is 17.5* … Great review as always Andrew – all the best from the U.S.!👍🏻
Good review Andrew. I always look forward to your endeavors. Big fan here in Manchester, Connecticut where I am waiting for the Spring to get out there again on the course. As you probably remember I love the Ping Hybrids and Woods. I actually have the Ping G 425 in the # 5, #7 and # 9 Woods. I would not leave home without them 🙂 The new Ping 440 # 4 Wood looks fascinating. I'm betting that turns out to be an excellent add by Ping. I have continued to use my G 425 # 5 wood off the tee and usually hit it just as far as my friends do with their drivers and with more accuracy. It's all good. Thank you Andrew !
It looks better…doesn't have the back weight sticking out….the 4 wood could be right up my street…..need to look down the back of the sofa for some cash😋
Interesting, honest assessment. I got fitted for a G430 Max 5-wood only in December – I live abroad, so it was then or wait a long time for a chance to get fitted in England for the G440. It's been going great off the fairway and off the tee. Having said that, the G430's very shallow face still makes me nervous, so I should think that the G440 Max is a better all-rounder. The 4-wood option might be a handy one to have.
