There's a serious technique to punting, my dad is god damn 60+ and can STILL punt it like 30+ yards (he used to punt it to us to catch as kids) and that thing goes what seems 400 ft in the air. Never been able to do it myself (properly) so I assume it's one of things you either can or can't do.
