Stop turning in your golf swing to hit straighter and longer driver shots. Most golfers think they need to “turn more” to fix their slice—but that’s NOT the real issue. In this golf swing lesson, I’ll show you why stopping your turn at the wrong time ruins your driver swing and leads to poor strikes.

This simple shoulder turn golf swing drill will teach you how to use tilts and turns properly, so your body works with you, not against you. No more early stalls, no more flipping at impact—just better strikes and straighter shots!

  1. Great drill, will give it a go! Would love to drop from a 36 to a 26 this year and losing fewer balls off the tee would go a long way towards that goal.

  2. Thank you Mark. As a 50 something year old male I’m wanting to drop 5 shots in 25 and go from a handicap of 8 to 3. With your videos I’m confident on achieving this.

  3. 25 handicap i want to break 90 this year ive come close but need to find more fairways with my driver.

  4. Let's think about getting rid of the Black Box with the writing so we can see what you're trying to show us…. If we can't see it, we can't DO IT.

  5. Hi Mark, is there anyway to contact you through your management team. I would imagine they filter the mailbox but happy to try and get in touch nonetheless. Its in relation to a new training aid coming to market in 2025.

  6. 15 or less is realistic for me, im high 20's but my issue is consistency of strike. when im on im good. i tend to rush a little bit and also get careless late in the round. i need to clean up my game and i think 15 is possible. my card is littered with 4's and 8's.

  7. You are technically astute but do you not think that physical impairments in your students temporary or permanent, are more a cause of these faults?

  8. Seems like you are encouraging a setup without presetting a tilt away from target like many instructors do. Instead you’re adding the tilt in transition. What’s the benefit of one vs the other?

  9. I have come to a conclusion that 99.9999% golf instructors are clueless about Golf. They read something and babble on. Same as hinduism

  10. Tour player has markers. Some cheat sheet. You wont see tour players telling anything. Even hogan did not tell his secret in his book. If you tell that everyone will become ben hogan. Imagine if magician reveal everything? Magic business will be bankrupted. So we only have fools as golf instructor everywhere

if a golf instructor knows secret , he will become silent

  11. Thank you was struggling with my long irons and this drill is a game changer! Simple and not having a 100 swing thoughts. The “feel” sticks. This will lead to me getting my handicap to single digits.

  12. Brilliant drill Marko Polo! 🎉👍🏻I’m so pleased to have found this and hope it’ll assist me in getting rid of my bloody irritating fade I have had creep into my game again. Thanks mate. At least I know what the fix is now! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  13. Thanks Mark, this looks like a really good match to address my driving errors, where inconsistency is a result of a lack of a ‘process’, with the added advantage that it appears to be as relevant on the course ahead of a drive and as well as on the range. I will let you know how I get on! Cheers.

  14. Really looking forward to trying this Mark, the feedback is like having a coach with you I reckon!

Would you be able to do a video on short backswings one day?
There’s a few out there but when they come to demonstrate they very rarely actually have what I would consider a short backswing!
I literally cannot get my lead arm any more turned than horizontal but I do a full turn.
    Thanks and “you’re welcome” 😂

  15. So clear, with this aid, for backswing, transition and clearing left side. So gonna practice this drill on the course tomorrow, thanks Mark 👍🏻

  16. So, don't do as the title says. The truth is not to stop turning but to get your timing right. Well there's a surprise…
