Kiffin knew players Davis knew football. Kiffin sucked as a coach though and Davis sucked at evaluating players. He overlooked skill in his later years and relied solely on size, speed and strength.
That's why he tolk JaMarcus Russell and remember, chose Darius Heyword-Bey (spelling) over Michael Crabtree. DHB was incredibly fast.
I'll never forget kiffin having janikowski go for a 70 something yard field goal, pretty sure that was a big fuck you to Davis, when we hired mcdumbass it felt like kiffin 2.0, still so glad we've got AP now, the future looks brighter than it has in a while RN4L!!!
Young Al Davis was way ahead of his time, winning coach, Commissioner of the AFL, principal owner of the Raiders. 3 Super Bowl Trophies. Old Al Davis was way behind the times. He drug his team to the muddiest of bottoms, and would not let his coaches coach.
Yeah I remember just how bad that relationship was. I'm from the Bay area and I was in Oakland raiders fan at the time. Actually Lane Kiffin was seen as a success at first. The raiders had the worst offense by far in 2006 and sure the raiders were able to get two wins that year but they were kind of lucky to do so and it really was the defense did all the work in both those wins. One comment I saw in an article on the press Democrat said it all when they got that win against the Steelers in 2006. Chris Carr returned an interception for a touchdown for more yards than the total amount of yards the offense went that entire game.
So to put that in the perspective with the raiders having their offense improved from what I think was probably the worst offense I had ever seen in my life and the only reason they had any wins was because of them having somehow a really amazing defense that year, all for the raiders offense to improve to like 21st I think which obviously isn't very good but it's a dramatic improvement from where they were the year before, a lot of us raiders fans actually saw Lane kiffin as a success at the time even though the team still wasn't really that good but they were noticeably improved at least on offense. Not sure why the defense took such a step back though.
A lot of us did not want Lane kiffin to be fired. Looking back at it now at least in my opinion I think it was the right decision. It was just two seasons later when the raiders were actually in contention for the division for two straight years as a matter of fact. It was indeed a very dramatic relationship between those two. If somehow they could have made it work and the raiders actually improved a lot more and maybe even made the playoffs which even then was still extremely unlikely, it might have actually made for a good movie😂
The fact that they hired a fucking offensive coordinator out of college to be an NFL head coach, and it wasnt even like this super inspiring guy, it was this young prick who got his ‘in’ because of his daddy
Why bring President Trump into your rant about Al Davis. You are a liberal hack and I will now block your channel. Congratulations on killing your viewership just like Hollyweird and democrat propaganda mainstream media. Trump 2024!
You are wrong about his leaving Alabama for FAU – Lane wanted to stay = Saban didn't want him to stay PLEASE be sure your facts are right, especially when you are painting negative pictures of people

Even Kiffin knew not to draft Jamaracus Russell. He wanted Calvin Johnson.
Getting Rid of Gruden the first time was a huge mistake.

RIP Godfather🙏😔
It’s unfortunate they named the AFC Championship trophy after Lamar Hunt…. Dude was such a F*CKING SNAKE🐍🤢🤮
That should’ve ALWAYS been the “Al Davis Memorial Trophy”
Let’s right this wrong once and for all😮💨💯
That sounds an awful lot like the beef Al Davis had with Mike Shanahan. 😂👀
2002 was their 5th Super Bowl appearance.
2002 was the Raiders 5th SB appearance

"Smoke weed talk shit like Lane Kiffin"
– The Littlest Wayne
Jeff Garcia & rookie Megatron would have been fucking unreal. Maybe his nickname would have ended up being Long Johnson Silver ROFL 🤣 😂 🤣
Anytime I think of Lane Kiffin I think of Daniel Tosh from Tosh.0 with his “Kiffin’s Krimson Korner” sketch
Can i borrow that 2 dollars on your desk?
Al Davis was a bum owner. No Super Bowls in his last 25 years as an owner

cough 5 super bowls …cough
The Raiders have been irrelevant for the last thirty years, and will continue to be irrelevant under bowl haircut Mark Davis.
Reminds me of a Secret Base video. Well written and narrated!
I admire young AL, but am embarrassed by his last 20 years of mistakes. Let’s not forget Lane was one of his many F ups!
The eyebrow raise after Mangina got me to subscribe.
*5th Super Bowl appearance in 2002 *beefed with Pete Rozelle about move to LA
8:22 to be fair, Mike and the broncos were cheaters. Especially in the cap space topic. See: td and elway’s “pay”

Lane Kiffin was right when he thought it was a mistake drafting JaMarcus Russell.
JaMarcus Russell was a joke too
2:35
WRONG
Al Davis locked horns with then commissioner Pete Rozelle, not Paul Tagliabue, in trying to move the Raiders to LA in the early-80’s.

The Raiders have made 5 super Bowls. They lost Super Bowl 2 to the Packers.
Howard: “That’s an absurd proposition!”
Stu: “YOU’RE AN ABSURD PROPOSITION!”
😂😂😂
No it wasn't because Kiffin didn't take over a playoff team…..
Didn’t the wheels come off the wagon with Mike Shanahan too?
If Lance Kittens doesn’t have one of the most derp punchable faces than I don’t know who does
Now that the Lions are finally good looks like the dog crap pile is all in the AFC Jets, Jags, Browns, Raiders
Al Davis fued was with Commissioner Pete Rozelle not Paul Tagliabue.
