TaylorMade has confirmed to GolfMagic that its long-term association with Dustin Johnson is now over.
Johnson, 40, first signed for TaylorMade when he turned professional in 2007.
DJ went on to win 24 times on the PGA Tour including two major titles at the 2016 U.S. Open and 2020 Masters.
The big-hitting American became just the third player in PGA Tour history to win a Tour title in each of his first 13 seasons.
Johnson also went on to become World No.1 for a total of 135 weeks, ranking third in the all-time list behind second-placed Greg Norman (331) and runaway leader Tiger Woods (683).
Current World No.1 Scottie Scheffler (126) is closing in on DJ’s record though and he is on pace to catch his compatriot after The Masters in April.
Dustin Johnson is no longer a TaylorMade ambassador
Johnson decided to tear up his PGA Tour card in the summer of 2022 when he penned a reported $200m deal to join LIV Golf.
He has since gone on to win three LIV Golf titles in Boston (2022), Tulsa (2023) and Las Vegas (2024).
But as a result of LIV Golf being shut out of receiving Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, along with some indifferent recent results in the majors, Johnson has slid to an unthinkable 578th position in the world as of this week.
The former World No.1 ended his 15-year apparel deal with adidas Golf last season.
And today it has been confirmed to GolfMagic that Johnson has now also ended his 18-year equipment deal with TaylorMade.
As a result Johnson is now a free agent in the golf equipment world.
“Yes, we no longer have rights to Dustin Johnson,” a TaylorMade spokesperson confirmed to GolfMagic Editor Andy Roberts.
The update will likely not come as a huge surprise to eagle-eyed golf fans given Johnson was not wearing a TaylorMade cap for the first time ever as a Tour pro during the opening LIV Golf League event of the new season in Riyadh last week.
Johnson, who is the captain of 4Aces GC on LIV Golf, was seen wearing his team’s logo on his golf cap in Saudi Arabia.
DJ went on to finish a rather lacklustre T44 following rounds of 67, 73 and 74.

Johnson had extended his deal with TaylorMade in both 2016 and 2021.
But TaylorMade and Johnson have now decided to end their long-term partnership entering the 2025 season.
TaylorMade sponsors a number of the game’s biggest stars on the PGA Tour and LPGA in 2025, none bigger than Scottie Scheffler, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Charley Hull and Nelly Korda.
