  1. Jim, I've been studying your videos and it makes so much sense. Living in the northeastern portion of the country the only club I can practice with is my 60 degree wedge. I can't wait for the weather to break so I can use my longer irons. I want to thank you for taking the time to help all of us frustrated golfers who constantly struggle on the golf coarse.

  2. Not saying this is wrong necessarily. But is power lost with this swing? Why do no high level golfers do this?

There's unconventional swing instruction in baseball, but the difference is that it's supported by the fact that nearly 100% of MLB players have 'unconventional' swings.

  3. This has major overlap with the idea of a lead arm swing or front side mechanics taught by a baseball swing instructor named Jaime Cevallos.

Definitely on to something with this.

  4. Jim, their are now quite a few teachers of an "arms/wrists/hands" swing. So, a conventional back swing but then emphasis on keeping the shoulders still in a closed position as the arms drop and wrists unhinge, with the body then turning in response to the movement/momentum of the arms and club. Certainly no hip rotation in an effort to gain power from the "big" muscles. Some even suggest a closed stance to help create space for the arms. Would it be fair to say this is similar in concept to what you teach, except that, by pre-setting in a closed position, you have further simplified the whole swing?

  5. Your release is pro level. Most of us don’t have that! The swing helps a ton anyway but release instruction would help a ton.

  6. Jim, thank you for your videos. Question: with your closed stance, do you see any correlation between your prescribed stance and that of the typical football placekicker on field goals?

  7. Physics 101: The golf club has to be accelerating when it strikes the ball. And acceleration is produced by TORQUE, NOT constant speed. If your entire body is moving, you can only apply speed with your hips. But if the connection between the arms (left shoulder) does not move, you apply TORQUE to the club, which creates acceleration. Acceleration cannot come from moving the entire machine. If that was the case then crankshafts wouldn't work. There seated within the bearings to keep them still while the piston and connecting rods move up and down and turn it. If speed was driving the golf ball, then Iron Byron's pivot point or shoulder would be turning around the machine, but it doesn't because it would have no torque and no acceleration. Think about a Top Fuel dragster vs a F1 car. Dragster needs all the Acceleration it can possibly produce in a very short time (just like the golf swing) and distance, and it does this with massive amounts of low end TORQUE not high end speed. Listen to Jim, he knows what he is talking about.

  8. Jim, I am a senior golfer, left handed but I play golf right handed. I use single length hybrid clubs 3-PW. Being a Stack and Tilt user, i liked not moving much and recently went to a more closed stance, but my back did not cooperate. After watching your video's I started going to a 45 degree angle on both my feet and shoulders. Right now just hitting foam balls in my backyard driving net. Noticed a couple of things:
    A) At least 80% of the balls hit the net about 14-16 inches right of target and a little low, but all consistently in the same spot.
    B) No lower back pain

Thanks, i will continue practicing and take it to the range in a week or two.

  9. Like your take on the swing. Not sure why people are upset with your philosophy when you’re clearly just trying to help and show people another way lol Rocco Mediate has a closed stance approach to his swing.

  10. Hey Jim, I must admit I took the swing to the course this weekend. I hit some shots that I haven't hit in years. I didn't score the way I wanted too, but I'm encouraged by what I saw. It's been super cold here in SC so I haven't been able to practice the way I want. Stay tuned!!

  11. It took me a year to do it but I developed a pre-swing thought and feeling on the range: keep my back to the target thru impact. It works perfectly fine for me.🌵😸

  12. So glad I found this channel! This technique is exactly what I needed. I live in the northeast, so hitting the course has to wait a couple months. I couldn't wait to try this though. I grabbed my hitting mat, some range balls, and knocked a few from my garage out into the woods. IMMEDIATE results! Had one bad shot (picked my head up), but the rest were just as you say they'll be. Effortless long and high draws, and they were repeatable! I couldn't believe it. Thank you! Can't wait to really refine and practice this method further.
