Why are there so many 3-pointers today? Is the modern game too repetitive? Do all teams REALLY play the same way? This detailed film breakdown & scouting report compares 1990s NBA basketball to the 2000s to today’s modern NBA, after the Pace-and-Space revolution, to understand why offenses are so much harder to guard, why defenses have to be better than ever, and why the game is more complex than ever.

  2. it's hilarious how TB broke down the 90s era game and you still have jorplumber fans that will tell you it was the finest basketball played.

  3. KG understands Wembys plight because he was misunderstood the same way. He constantly said he was 6’11” because if he said he was a 7 footer that meant he had to play a certain way.

  4. Honestly the only thing downside of modern basketball is the fact players might be getting injured more because they have to cover more ground when defending. But I am not sure if this is even confirmed by research, don't remember where I heard this theory?

  5. Man, thank you for the amazing content, you make us casual fan understand the beauty of basketball even more, unlike other media who feels like demonizing it.

  6. "hey dont play chess anymore, they played checkers" bruh, they are playing bullet chess like an Grandmaster, they just play it so good that all the move is going all over our plebeian head

  7. I too I’m in favor of modern basketball.
I think one of the roots of criticism is the All Star Game which is dreadful. The allstar used to be the face of the NBA (the dunk contest as well) and now it is garbage.
It is such an embarrassment that it spills out to the rest of the games unfairly.

  8. The sad thing is that the people with that negative take about the modern NBA will never watch a video like this because they are casual fans who just regurgitate whatever they see on social media

  9. the old heads are just bitter and jealous of the scale and how much players are being paid these days

  10. I think you've actually changed my mind about this issue. I generally hate seeing one team up on the other by 18 points and thinking it's a rout and then I see the 3pt shooting and see one team is 10-18 and another is 4-18 and then realize it's just that one team is hot and one is not. But I guess the "make or miss" nature of the game has always been true. Plus, teams still choose to defend the paint first, knowing that they're leaving shooters open. It's not like they couldn't all stay-at-home on shooters if shooting 3s was the only thing that mattered.

  11. No bro joker is not the best passer ever. Nobody in last ten years are close to the top passers bud

  12. For me, what I don't like about the 3 point culture is seeing a player with an open lane and deciding to throw up a three instead of dunking

  13. Ahh this validates my take on the game being more advanced and it being pushed to the limit best era
