I 100% believe that any Golfer can learn to master the low spinning wedge shot and start playing like a Pro arounds the greens.
If you want to get there quicker, check out this brilliant training aid that I recently discovered: https://strikewedge.com/jonperkins
Thanks to Boomerang Golf Club for letting me film!
Enjoy,
Jon

So how do you hit them?
I tried the wedge shot and managed to get the 300yd drive you mentioned in the intro 😁🤦
The one important thing that you’ve missed is the bounce on the wedge. I can get that effect with soft wrists and letting the bounce push back up into the ball to dig in a bit better and get more grip, and more spin.
When either the greens or club or grass are wet-you'll never get that stop spin no matter how clean your gear is.
The burning wedge shot seems I’ve heard of this before 🤔
New sub! Great delivery of content.
Nice job, but please less talk more actually demonstrating . Re do this video, 10% talk 90 % showing actual technique
Your setup, approach, and your follow through was great for me. I truly Enjoyed your Session, and look forward to more.
And Super Subbed!
Gary player always told his caddy not to clean sand off the wedge to get max spin😊
All if this good info should come from your caddy which few golfers have therefore they don’t break 90. As one of the best 80 yr old golfers in the world people need to understand more about the science if golf and sports skill
A 64 wont do that?
I can hit a sand wedge 100-120, PW 145 ,9 155, 8 175 ,7 iron 200 ! 5 iron 220 ! driver 195-300
Excellent video. I've already suscribed to your channel. Cheers from Mexico.
ALL of our games are a work in progress… I don’t know of a time I’m not working on something!
Nice honest tip and well-explained. 👍
There's probably better spinning balls out there, but as a high handicapper I had great results with Callaway supersoft matte finish. Only ball that I was able to get noticeable backspin
This guy is terrible, little if any discussion on how to do it.
Probably for most players, even single handicappers, the better shot is more standard and just play the roll out as you know it. Going for something that looks pretty but is more difficult to pull off is dumb (for most players again).
Finally! A great explanation with some facts…. ! Best explanation I’ve seen
one of the guys said try to hit it more towards the toe to get more backspin. does that seem valid?
Excellent video. Thanks for the great explanation.
I think many people(myself included until recently)are hesitant to open the face enough. And then release the club, don't hold it open like you would on other pitch shots. Try to draw the ball with an open face.
Yes, I can’t stand watching instructional videos, where there’s 10 minutes of dialogue talking about how shitty of golf are you are, and actually one minute of actual demonstration how to fix it….
It’s more like an advertisement than a demonstration . I can’t even watch this whole video.
I tried the shot and to get the 350 yd drive you mentioned in the intro?????
Spinning the ball on short chips is my next goal. It seems impossible. Today all I could do was launch high flop shots. Yes they stopped sooner but they weren't backing up or stopping suddenly
😀👍
Dumbest training aid ever
What size is the toomate
A simple hand towel would do the trick, no?
$99 AUD for the strike wedge – insane price. nice video.
Those fairways the pros play are nothing like the fairways your average golfer plays. They’re much tighter. And greens are totally different as well. This is apples to doughnuts. Instruction in this video is excellent.
Awesome video Jon thanks for the advice just the shot I am looking to work on.
that was awesome!! thank you, i am buying the SW today. i am going to watch more of your videos. i also quite enjoy your mental even keel approach.
Hey thanks, I like the wedge technique
Quit trying to lift the ball in the air. You can't get spin trying to lift.
Hey man your chipping to an uphill green. You don't need spin to stop it on an uphill green. Ball way off your back foot, hands back instead of forward press and clubface square. Use the bounce and hit down.
60 ° wedge les 15 ° shaft Lean plus 5 ° angle of attack Gives optimum spin
Why not use a 52 ° wedge no shaft lean and a 3 angle
Sub'd. That little orange attack angle guide for your wedge looks interesting.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏌️♂️Cheers Jon
£50 for strike wedge
fools and their money
Good video but I wouldn’t open the blade on a 60° for that shot. You have enough loft with that club already.
All you need to do is practice. I had a dog that would fetch any ball i hit so it was great.
Those greens look hairy 😂, well done, I'll be trying your technique.
