  1. Easiest solution would be to have 2 groupd of 6, each playing 2 test match series with the top 2 of each group playing a semi / final. All it needs is the same amount of tests (so fans can follow) and an international window. Outside this let India play 10 test against each other a year……. you could easily do this over a 2 year cycle with a 3 year being the finals

  2. I see your point regarding fairness of WTC but the current model does not always seem fair to longer test series. may be just give percentage number per series irrespective of number of matches to both sides. So for 2 match series with 1 win 1 loss give 50 points each to both teams. For 5 match series with 3 wins and 2 losses give 60 points and 40 points respectively to teams.

  3. The points system is questionable. I think England lost 2 series in this cycle and with slow over rate have finished 7th. Stokes is kinda right if you win/lose a test inside 3 days over rate is kinda pointless.
What’s matters is winning a series, nothing else.

  4. India does not deserve to be in the upcoming wtc final. Hard as it is to accept as an India fan, its just a fact.

But the wtc in its current format is deeply flawed. The big 3 play series with 4/5 tests with each other. Whoever wins that makes it to the final. Others play series with 2 tests and whoever does better is the other team in the final. NZ and SA have done it while there were better test teams around who didnt. If the best 2 teams are not in the final that beats the whole purpose of the cycle.

Regarding the points, why not use the ICC test ranking system like algorithm. Takes into account the strength of the opposition as well. If its good enough to work as ranking system, should be good enough to decide who makes it to the final

  5. Might be better to have a Test Match world cup every two years. Different country to host each time. Two groups of four, semis and a final, all over in about six weeks.

  6. Lol! This collins guy really loves Jay Shah, hIs nostrils get inflated whenever he mentions Shah…..Lets hope Maurice Blackburn lawyers will assist Jay shah to draft restraining order in advance…… alex jones level energy from collins

  7. WTC should be 4 years cycle instead of Two years. Minimum 3 Test series must. All teams should be offered opportunity to play home and away and it will happen.

  8. So the ICC are not interested in growing cricket. Shocker. Just want to build powerhouses. Then keep the good stuff and fix the broken. Whats the bet they min the point loss for slow overs. Test cricket needs to grow.

  9. Lets be truly honest. It is all about money and ego on the part of India and England. Yes the path of South Africa was questionable, but India and England have not been good enough – pure and simple! No matter how much India & England jerrymander (skew) the system to their benefit, there will still be one huge problem for both of them, – they will still need to face Australia! What is apparent is that really India & England would really like for Australia to disappear and then they could face each other in perpetuity!

  10. Well people tend to complain about things they are not good at.
For Example India complaining about tests because their test team is shit right now, England complain about Everything about cricket as tgey are shit at every format. Australia are shit at t20 so Australian public like to take the high riad and declare they don't care about t20 but will happily take the cup abd money. People often don't care what thry can't win. Eng dint care about anything, India about test and Australia about t20. We all saw what we all do when any of the teams win in the respective formats. Everyone is a crybaby in cricket. No exceptions and high moral Roads. Though moral ground is slightly higher for current England team. Abd as you are Australian I know you will again take the high road and try to deny it but we all know that its true. We are all crybabies in cricket. Anything goes wrong be it pitches, schedule we all complain

  11. Hahahahaha! Maybe we can have a World Morals Championship and a World What if x did or didn't happen? Championship. 😄

  12. All Indian fans agree that our test team doesn't deserve to be in the final this time. We are not England crying about everything in cricket. So spare me the smugness and do your job professionally instead of being one of them.

  13. It really looks pathetically dismissive of New Zealand, a team who thumped India to win the Final when they made it and were thoroughly robbed of the ODI Championship by an all so moral England. On that bent, does a robbed "champion" side like India deserve a final spot after being flogged zero to three at home by a New Zealand team not considered a legitimate championship contender? Boo-effen-hoo England and BCCI. Agreed, pay up or shut up.

  14. It will be interesting when this highly accomplished Aussies tean decides to retire. All of them except travis us above 35. Pace foursome is also aging. It will be interesting to see the new crop of players coming through. Will they be effected by white ball cricket like other countries, tgat will be interesting to know. 2-3 years max maybe

  15. England are clearly discriminated against in the WTC. Expecting an England team to not be mediocre is completely unfair, don't you know they're saving test cricket?

  16. How could anyone suggest that South Africa don't deserve to be there? Feels like England / India are grasping at straws to explain away they didn't perform well enough to make the finals.

  17. Jay Shah can do anything and everything. Look at the two guys who always ranted about Test cricket dying and flaws with WTC suddenly transforming into loving the state the game is in at the moment. 😅

  18. I think if anything is to be changed its fhe point system. How does India winning at home vs Bang has same value as NZ winning in India. Or how does WI winning in Aus is equal to say Eng winning at home vs SL or WI

  19. What has australia done to test cricket ? Are they playing enough tests with lower ranked teams ?
