Nico Echavarria joins the show fresh off winning the Zozo Championship. We discuss his Colombian upbringing, fending off big names like Justin Thomas, preparing to play Augusta this spring for the first time, how much he loves the country of Japan, watching a ton of golf in his free time and his full team of people it takes to succeed. Before Nico, the crew talks World Series craziness, the Tour’s proposed sweeping new changes, pace of play being a central issue, and we play Closest To.

  1. The PGA taking away opportunity for more golfers to have a chance at living their dream and playing professionally rather than solving an issue created BY THEM is honestly super on brand. As sad as it is I’m not surprised.

  2. These PGA changes have absolutely nothing to do with pace of play or darkness. They are just using that to limit fields and keep the top golfers the top golfers for longer.

  3. hey frankie enjoy that yankees 5-0 blown lead with 3 errors in the 5th inning and subsequently losing the game and Dodgers winning the World Series? 🤣

  4. I'm volunteering myself to organize this trip and go with you guys! I'm form there but live in Miami, know best golf courses there!

  5. Most of the guys that are slow we don’t even like to watch. Also, look at the policy board.. cantlay, Simpson, speith, malnati. All slow players, also all in the top 100 (maybe not Simpson, haven’t looked at the stats). Coming from these guys no wonder they want the change

  6. Love the convo about shot clock. I caddied for our Assistant Pro who used to be at our course in a few mini tour events. It’s a tour called APT that’s kinda south/central US based.

They have a shot clock and they will absolutely send a rules official out to put a group on the shot clock. I’m not sure they’re exact parameters, but the group behind us one day fell two holes behind about 7 holes in, and a rules official went to them on the tee and told them they were on a shot clock until they caught back up. They were hoofing it after. They’re not giving up strokes. And they play rounds in 4.5 hours all the time. Easy fix. Just enforce the rules.

  7. Moments over, the Yankees lose in embarrassing fashion. I'm not sure how the Mookie situation is funny. It probably seems funny to find one bright spot in a joke of a World Series.

  8. Pace of play penalties would add in another layer of entertainment. Caddies looking at a watch counting down shot clock.
