  1. So what you're confirming is that the only thing the PGA has is using their influence to prevent OGWR points for LIV events? When one business uses influence to prevent a competitor from building their business what's that called in the US? Is that legal?

  2. So whacking a ball in to a screen for gambling opportunities is the big thing for the PGA? If you give wall to wall coverage about TGL then of course it will get viewers but are they still begging fans to turn up?

  3. LIV is growing year on year, certainly outside of the US. What players lose in visibility in the US, they grow in Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe. As LIV evolves, the US animosity will begin to wane. I watched the first sheils video, it was very unlike his normal videos, it wasnt me me me, ie. All about Rick, it was an attempt to get below the skin of Jon Rahm and Brookes kepka. Brookes really opened up, showed a fun side and interesting stuff about motivation. If Rick continues with this soft approach, LIV will be embraced by Ricks subs, opening up a foothold in the US. You say LIV havent signed a name, yet the PGA has shrunk, gone inwards on itself, that isnt exactly exciting. LIV launches next week, look at the search spikes post that, LIV Australia was sold out a year in advance, so the players are heavily followed there. LIV Korea is sold out, a massive new market, what are the search spikes in Asia, using the search engines used there?

  4. Are you 2 being unintelligent on purpose. The thing is there's NO CUT !!!!! They get paid unlike the pga miss a cut you get nothing 😢😢😢

  5. Im almost laughing myself sick with you 2 really 4 or 5 million you talk like that's nothing. Seriously give me that and I never work again. So greedy these MF

  6. Jk the end of there career you mean like Jon Ramm or Kepka or Bryson all at the end of there playing you 2 are so proud pga it's disgusting

  7. I find myself watching less professional golf. I have not been enjoying the PGA Tour or LIV too much. They always talk about money and how bad each other is. I lost interest, I would much rather spend time doing other things and catch highlights on YouTube, etc. I do enjoy TGL and watch a lot of YouTube vlogs and collabs. But none have made me want to tune in to professional golf.

  8. I think the merger idea is pretty much over. The only thing that has to be worked out is how the LIV guys can qualify for the majors. The majors are the only thing that matters to the "names" on the LIV tour. I think the 2 tours, aren't going anywhere. Too many egos and too much money involved. IMO the World Golf Ranking HAS to include all tours, regardless how many days they play…cuts don't matter…if you're playing well, you're not missing the cut. Just a thought…maybe the top 50 in the Rankings can play where ever they want, PGA or LIV or DP. They automatically qualify because of their ranking. You would have LIV players in signature events and PGA players could play in LIV events (I'm sure they could create a team) or only compete for individual title. The PGA players need to forget about the money the LIV guys got. They have obviously taken the hit from the public…and that's on them and the money was worth it for them. That's the RISK they took. And I believe the PGA players already got a hefty bonus because of what the LIV players did. Not saying I agree with it or it was right, but it's over now. Things change and they need to evolve with it… if they want to stay relevant. Otherwise, the history of the game and what people value in golf (majors), is going to become irrelevant. Todays viewers don't care about the importance of the majors, they just want to see all the best players together and/or something entertaining…and they want to see it MUCH quicker. It has to be faster or it will not hold their attention. Let's face it, the audience they are trying to get is already hooked on instant gratification with tik tok and whatever other social media outlet out there. I'll give you an example… my 13 yr old son, loves golf….loves to PLAY golf. He can't stand to watch a tournament on TV. He'll watch every youtube video out there with Rory in it, but he feel asleep watching Rory WIN at Pebble Beach, yesterday. I don't get it. But that's what the Tours are up against. They need to work things out and learn to play/live together.
Love the Podcast! Keep up the great work.

  9. I like your channel…nice click bait 😂. At this point, who cares, tbh? I don't like LIV, but who cares? Watch what ya wanna watch n focus energy and effort somewhere else. If there's a hooker with a million golf followers, a manufacturer will figure out a way to sign them for the almighty $$$. It's only a matter of time.

  10. I definitely watch both. Been doing it since the beginning. But as I have been saying for years the way the Tour is presented seems way outdated.

  11. Have never watched LIV and don’t plan to. I only watch golf because there’s not much else on in 5-10 years I’ll bet almost all sports will see major drops in viewership. I happen to be older so maybe my perspective is different than younger generations. I also know Shiels has a lot of viewers but I don’t see how he moves the needle. His content has really taken a downhill slide in the last couple years.

  12. Having Monahan & USPGAT Board managing Livv may get some small $$ coming in but wont change it from being just a mini circuit that PIF losses $billions on. Livv is barely noticed, has turned viewers off golf in general, and has the biggest downward trending of all golf in '24.

  13. Greyson signing Rahm’s team is big in itself. Ive had a pro shop tell they’re dropping Greyson’s line because of this.
Just my opinion the reason Bryson started his channel was to stay relevant! Phil Being a smart guy he jumped on a young Grant eager to break through with that caliber player and started his channel to stay relevant! He doubles down and signs his teams apparel to Primo. More visibility! Otherwise let’s be honest they all fade away.
Dj is gone, he played on Grants channel looked like he hasn’t been near a golf club in some time.

  14. Although it’s great to embrace YouTube golf, you must also keep it premium. They have to walk a fine line between accessibility and premium. If they can do that, LIV will grow. Another thing I hope they can do, is maintain watchability. The PGA Tour, except top events, is where I get my best naps in. The constant commercials, droning commentary, lack of seeing more than 1.2 shots per minute, the nonstop corporate propaganda, etc. It’s enough to get anyone to tune out. If LIV can navigate all of that, then I’ll continue to watch. If they turn into the PGA, I’ll just stop watching professional golf other than the majors and elite tournaments. I’ll never stop watching The Masters.

  15. TGL! Really! Once the novelty wears off, the ratings will too. They already have after the 3rd week. The only bump will be those Tiger-starved fans when he plays. I don’t think Rory significantly moves the needle when he plays.

  16. If you look at Rahm's hat, for the first time since he left the PGA it has a big CALLAWAY name across the front and his team logo is on the side

  17. I dont understand the argument that LIV is difficult to access kr follow because you need the CW app or the LIV app. It shows live on f@cking Youtube. You can watch it delayed or afterwards, rewind, skip forward. It is literally the best thing in the world you can watch anywhere at you own time.

On the popularity thing. This is skewed by media and influencers just intentionally ignoring LIV out of fear that they get backlash. I'll give kudus to you guys at least for doing a whole show discussing LIV because most channels and podcasts just pretty much ignores the LIV topic alltogether but that said you still show a lack of knowledge on LIV when in fact all you have to do is just watch it or pull up leaderboards etc.
