CRUISE CHANGES IN 2025

Get ready, cruise enthusiasts! Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is making waves with some major updates in 2025. 🌊 From new onboard perks to exciting additions to the fleet, these changes to NCL in 2025 will redefine your cruising experience. Here’s a full breakdown of what to expect:

🌟 More at Sea – A New Era for Perks
Say goodbye to the familiar Free at Sea program and hello to More at Sea, launching for sailings starting January 1, 2025. This new package retains perks like unlimited open bar, specialty dining, WiFi, and shore excursion credits, while introducing improved options such as premium spirits with no price cap and WiFi for all stateroom guests. However, the perks now come with fixed fees, so budgeting for your cruise might look a little different!

🍹 Changes to Drink Packages
Big updates are coming to NCL’s drink offerings. While the Premium Beverage Package now includes 45% more premium brands and eliminates the $15 drink limit, some favorites like bottled water and specialty coffee remain excluded. Plus, NCL is eliminating its Premium Plus upgrade option, meaning guests will need to purchase separate plans for additional amenities. These changes to NCL in 2025 could impact how you plan your onboard indulgences!

🍽️ Specialty Dining Overhaul
Specialty dining on NCL is undergoing a significant shift. Dining packages are being discontinued, replaced with a fixed cover charge for specialty restaurants. While this simplifies pricing, casual diners may find it less flexible. The new structure includes three meals for balcony staterooms on 7-night sailings—an improvement—but additional specialty dining will now require an à la carte payment. This is one of the most impactful changes to NCL in 2025, particularly for foodies.

🚢 Introducing Norwegian Aqua
The highly anticipated Norwegian Aqua is set to debut in April 2025 as the first in the Prima Plus class. Packed with innovations, this ship will feature the world’s first Aqua Slidecoaster, expanded recreational areas like a two-level mini-golf course and pickleball court, and a new Thai specialty restaurant, Sukhothai. These exciting additions promise to make Norwegian Aqua a standout in the NCL fleet and highlight how NCL continues to evolve with the times.

💡 Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or planning your first voyage, these changes to NCL in 2025 are essential to know. From pricing adjustments to brand-new ship features, understanding these updates will help you get the most out of your Norwegian Cruise Line experience.

  1. Yup…nickel and dime’ing…won’t take that cruise line. It just ruins it. Yup… They are slowing killing their businesses

  2. I’m going to join you on your journey Kim. I have plans to work on loosing weight also. Let’s Get It In!👍🏾💪🏽🏋🏽‍♂️

  3. Does any one know how glasses of wine work? Are they still included? Do they charge you bottle price if you want a glass?

  4. The cruise lines are going to be pricing themselves out of business. After our prebooked cruises are done, we won't be sailing anymore.

  5. We will be going on NCL Breakaway (first NCL) in April. We have purchased free at sea. On Celebrity and Royal coffee was a part of the drink package. I hate Starbucks………. And it is for purchase only. Is the coffee at breakfast any good? Thanks

  6. More at sea is really less at sea. Sure you get an extra specialty dining and a wider selection of booze but you have no option of upgrading anything. Free at sea plus gave you extra meal credits, free WIFI, unlimited bottled water, unlimited Starbucks drinks, more shore excursions and top shelf booze. The Wifi plans are way too expensive, the starbucks plan isnt worth it unless you go more than twice a day and the bottled water packages are also too expensive. I will say though that if you drink the water in any of the restaurants and Buffet then you can just fill your water bottle in your stateroom since its all the same water.

  7. We had unlimited Internet, 4 specialty restaurants, and a premium drink package. Before they went to "More at sea" We were told that we still had that package. Nope, lies. Customer support on deck 6 or whatever….looked at us like we were stupid. F NCL.

  8. No wonder NCL can afford more new ships by charging us $20 per Specialty dinner despite them being part of the MAS!

  9. Very informative. Another change I read was that the Asian sit down restaurant previously included such as Chin Chin is now part of specialty dining so not included

  10. NCL is a total bait and switch outfit. Their guest services should hang a sign over it. "let the buyer beware". They're very shady !

  11. how can it be considered a credit if we have to pay extra for it – or am i not understanding how it works? i finally decided to book with NCL after years of vowing i wouldnt due to the cost and now things like this are making me think this is why i didnt want to book with them

  12. I used to travel with NCL frequently but when they started making it so much more expensive for a solo traveller despite the Amazing solo provisions, it was the gratuities (sorry the service charge they mandatory) unless U were onboard and went to reception… So I moved with my feet and went elsewhere

  13. There is nothing you can do with the price increase. Just get a second job to pay for the one week vacation you get from your job benefits from your first job 9 to 5

  14. FYI, O'Sheehan's is pronounced with the second "h" silent. Think O'Shean's. Our family name is the Anglicized version of O'Siodhachain. The Irish translation of "peace" is siochain.

  15. Your explanation at 6:45 about the new itineraries has me so excited for 2025! NCL keeps raising the bar. Thanks for keeping us informed with such engaging content – I always learn something new from your videos! ✨🛳

  16. I have two cruises booked with them for 2026. I didn’t think the cost or changes were out of line. But I don’t drink coffee, so I can see how that would affect someone else. You can if you’d like, exclude something from your package, I was told if I didn’t want the 5 specialty dining nights we could receive $200 back, same with the drink package etc. although different amounts refunded. I’m excited about the Plantary (sp) with vegetarian finally being addressed. Hopefully it will catch on to the other ships. Thank you for the information.

  17. Disney and Caribbean never included water in our drink package, we always had to buy cases of water.

  18. $60 is still cheaper than a steak out in town, and that’s just the steak! I kinda like the flat cover charge.
