  1. This is a great way to practice in the winter. It covers the big problem of consistent contact and a map for a better ball path.

  2. I have always found terms such as dropping into the slot in tennis and whatever they call the same thing in golf offensive euphemisms for slowing the swing down. The very idea is ridiculous. Swinging is based on throwing and there is no slowing down in throwing. It all boiled over yesterday. At the end of a long range session, I took a super fast relaxed backswing and winged it from there. Hit five long baby hooks. I had 6 balls left so I switched to an 8 iron. Hit 5, 8 irons with my regular stroke. Not a single pure hit. Used the “new” swing on the last ball and got another perfect strike. What had changed? The faster swing created the forward weight shift you mention above. But also, my trail elbow rose up to head level and that allowed me to accelerate smoothly during the entire forward swing.

  3. Wow! I wish I had been introduced to these feels 30 years ago; I would have enjoyed golf so much more. I watched this video earlier this morning and then tried out the feels at the driving range this afternoon. I cannot believe how well I was striking the ball when concentrating on moving the body into quadrant 1 and keeping the hands in quadrant 3 in the downswing.

  4. The correct backswing position just inside quadrant 2 I find the hardest. If I get there the gentle movement onto the left leg helps promote a good swing and follow through and generally a very good shot for my age (driver 250 yards and I am 70). I simply go too far around my body into quadrant 1, or stay too upright in quadrant one too often, leading to 60% weak shots. So difficult to feel the correct position naturally and consistently.
