Just goes to show that not everyone is meant to use the same putter. Nice to see the df3 still hanging with the new dog.
Dang! I mean I know I can't go wrong with either so I guess maybe I should get both!
Which one are you choosing? DF3 or the new OZ1i ?
You can tell that whether its balance or thr heavier weight that the the stroke was smoother and more stable than ozi. Especially the transition was better.
DF3 is much more stable. It is a better putter. Hence the popularity. I found the OZ1 similar to the LINK 1 less forgiving. The MEZZ max is more forgiving and stable than OZ1. Adam Scott does not even play the OZ1, he still rolls his MEZZ Max broom
Lets go! What a putt on hole 9!
I regret getting rid of my Df3 for the Oz1
Not as stable and doesn’t roll as nice
DF 2.1 was a spaceship/branding iron DF 3 is compact in comparison
I was fortunate enough to win the oz in a giveaway, I've been trying to get used to it but the feel off the face isn't working for me naturally. My old gamer has a really soft face. Speed control has always been a strong suit of mine and with the oz after a couple of weeks I still can't quite get the feel for it. I get the occasional hot one that goes 5-6 feet by from 30 feet which is really unusual for me. I'm considering trying the df3 since I prefer the softer feel, plus the putter I won is a half inch long and 1 degree flatter than recommended by the remote fitting.
I've read, and have been told by a teaching pro, a lighter putter is best for slower greens and heavier putter for fast greens. Obviously, the school of thought hear is that you will swing the lighter putter faster, making more of a difference in applied energy than a few extra grams of weight. I've done some of my own testing by changing the weight in the same putter, to make it lighter and heavier during a putting practice session, and I've found a lighter putter will generally get the ball to the hole easier than a heavier one. I do find a heavier putter can help smooth out the stroke and prefer it on shorter putts. To each their own though. You have to find what works for you.
Waiting for my OZ to arrive…. the blue DF3 looked mint… I see Grant Horvat is using it now and Phil Mickelson has the Mezz but has an OZ on the way… bottom line is if we all got it closer to the hole on approach shots… putting will be so much easier regardless of the brand! In absence of that I think either of these options will offer and improvement on non LAB putters …. 3 to 4 shots saved with the flat stick is worth hundreds of dollars in lessons alone …. in my humble opinion of course! Nice vid bud!
Would you consider sending the OZ back to get adjusted to be heavier?
i mean its a lab there all good
Great video, I’m deciding between the two currently. My understanding was the OZ1 is better on slower greens, as the metal insert helps the ball pop off the face. I play in the UK with slower greens most of the times. This maybe suggests DF3? Or is it more down to putter head weight in this test do you think?
its telling how LAB claims they designed Oz for/based on input of Adam Scott and yet he doesnt use it
The DF2.1 is the spaceship not the DF3
I've tried both in the store only but that DF3 seems more stable and effective for my putting abilities. Its look grows on you as well and now I like the way it looks. Will I buy the DF3 or the OZ.1i? Not sure which but I'm getting one of them next week.
