The Delgany Golf Club Drama Group are preparing to take Sam Cree’s ‘Widow’s Paradise’ to the stage for eight performances over the month of February.

Set in a caravan in the 1960s, the play follows a group of five women who go on a caravan holiday so that they can prove they do not need men.

They soon discover they are in the wrong caravan when they are joined by the male owner, his son and his brother-in-law. Forced to spend the night together, the group are soon joined by the husband of one of the women and the local farmer.

Widows’ Paradise takes a hilarious route through the course of a night, while answering the question ‘Can men and women live without each other?’

The play is directed by Bernard Doyle and the coast includes Jim Blake, Ann Boyle, Geoff Dolly, Mark Doyle, Alison Graham, Liam Kelly, Helen Miley, Michael O’Brien, Teresa Thompson and Fiona Whooley.

The opening night is on Wednesday, February 12, followed by productions on Thursday, February 13, Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15. After a short break, the play resumes on Wednesday, February 19, and continues on Thursday, February 20, Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22.

The curtain rises at 8pm on all eight nights. Tickets are priced at €20 and can be purchased by contacting Cheryl on 087 2520835.
