  1. Likey lots! Am also learning/practicing Dan Grieves three releases which compliments nicely. All aiming to produce some level of consistent competence out of the current chaos! (That's a lot of 'c's!)😂

  2. Don’t know where I got this but here goes. I put three balls down 4 inches apart the first in strike position, the second 4 inches away and the third 4 more inches away. All in a line.
Taking the club back to 4 o’ clock position and through to 8 position on the clock system I hit the first ball an without stopping and continuing to swing shuffle forward towards the second ball and so on to the third. What results is that the tempo created enables the weight to shift onto the front foot , strike improves and all the balls go the same distance.
Repeat with several other clubs and note down the distance. It’s great for those shorter chips around the greens and for the bump and run. On the course all you need is three practice swings before your shot. Your welcome.

  3. Pitching with a PW or a AW kinda keeps the chipping short game set up and modifies it for distance ! Very nice generated by stance -letting the club go naturally – lovely !

  4. I was the imaginary clock face but as you say, it’s difficult to judge. I’ve tried feel but that’s worse for consistency in my experience. Will be giving this a try and also note if the gapping between stances is consistent with each wedge.

  5. i'm at the end of my tether with chipping…..i putt from miles out!!! deffo going to give this a try …seems simple

  6. Great tip. Perfect of a mat or lush fairway. Can you provide tips when just of a fairway and have tufs of grass around/behind the ball. They are ones i struggle with

  7. Good as far as you went, but it's NOT that easy for most amateurs for two reasons. They struggle with balance and tempo which are critical for what you are teaching. When it counts, most amateurs can't wait to get the club head back to the ball, so they rush the backswing and transition. Similarly, you are very aware of your balance, most amateurs are not. Because you are very aware of your balance and where your weight is under and between each foot, when you widen your stance you lengthen your swing a specific amount. If you aren't aware of your balance and weight shift or understand exactly where it should be, this doesn't automatically happen.

  8. This looks really interesting for chipping. Using the feet spacing and gripping down with a natural swing looks great. Will give it a try. For pitch and run I do the Paul Wilson thing with a pitch in the air with a run that depend on the club used. Run length: a sand iron runs about equal to the distance in the air. A PW runs 2x the air distance. A 9 iron, 8 iron and 7iron run distance is 3x, 4x and 5x. With a bit of practice it works well. Without it I am like James, bloody pray and duff the ball.
