  1. Am I the only one who gets uncomfortable watching someone stand right in the shank zone, even with top golfers hitting? Great lesson by the way, exactly one of things I'm working on – weight shift and rotation.

  2. Trevor always reminds me of Chip&Dale with the chubby cheeks 😂 Great golfer nevertheless….

  3. I'm a little confused by Trevor's rotation because I work on hips forward, contact then rotation. works for me. What say you? Stay well-Russ

  4. The thing I struggle with when getting the pressure forward is stopping my head from also coming forward. I guess that's why a bit of side bend is necessary to keep the head central.

  5. I agree 100% but I had an even simpler 1-swing thought approach which was the speed of the weight shift. As here, start with hands above the ball or maybe slightly ahead in a forward press position (never behind the ball). Start your backswing with weight shifting to the back foot, then as your un-hurried swing starts down (as you turn towards the target) you will push off the back foot, shifting the weight to the forward foot, and as well as this the bottom of the arc of your swing moves in front of the ball, setting up your late hit punch that strikes the ball 1st and then the ground. Keeping your head still will also let you hit it solid on the sweet spot of the club you are using. Usually iron shots require a quicker weight shift than woods. Usually the driver (with the ball up on a tee) is the only shot where you want to hit slightly up on (to reduce spin for a longer runout). Paul Runyan called the angle of attack the amount of pinch…as in take a divot AFTER you hit the ball…nobody wants to hit it FAT…so you are better off to err on the side of a deeper divot rather than top the ball because you did not shift your weight forward, causing the club to reach the bottom of the swing well before reaching the ball, dooming the strike to be a topped shot as the club is now moving upwards…thinned shots can be better than fat shots but with practice you should be able to punch slightly down through the ball almost every time. So I am not saying anything new here, but sometimes conveying the feel of a square (or fairly square) swing that strikes the ball then either brushes the grass or takes a divot is easier said than done. I like watching compact swings like Jon Rahms swing and that is often quite PUNCHY!

  6. This lesson is awesome…..my timing always seems to be off somehow….where in the swing does this or that start etc etc etc….this explains a lot in very simple terms.
