Reality bites and a 4 hybrid is going to give me some help and improve my % of success over the 4 iron.

I’ve used hybrids for at least a dozen years. They single-handedly took me to single digits. There was a point where I felt like I could hit any green from 160-190 yards with my Callaway RAZR X 3, 4, and 5 hybrids. These days I still have the 4 and 5, but the 3 has been replaced with a 7 wood.
Most excellent. Played with 7 to 10 clubs for years, can't live without all 14 nowadays. I'm playing the best golf of my life lately.
I use golf pride tour velvets too. Jumbo, I'm told I have large hands. I played with too small a grip for years apparently.
Congratzlz with the purchase. Seems a good match in the bag. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Nice video Simon. Can you decrease the loft on your 3 hybrid or is 19degrees the lowest?
An excellent purchase all round! As you know, my various hybrids go in and out of my bag at pace, because I feel that I really should be able to the 5 & 6-irons, but find, in practice, that I can't! So I'm a hybrid & high loft fairway fan!!!
Yes, you'll have to tinker with the lofts in order to blend the 3-hybrid to the 5-wood, but that's part of the "fun" of having adjustable clubs!!!
I love that you just went on the course, hit a couple of shots and was done. You don't need to spend 2 hours hitting into a sim optimising spin numbers to get a club that does what you need it to.
I just bought a tsi 1 hybrid at 23° flew a bit low and long for the gap I wanted to fill. Added 1 degree up to 24 and then put it in the draw setting as I was over cutting it. Now it does exactly what I want it to do. I've done similar with my callaway driver, it was coming out a bit low, added 2° but it was too high so I put it back to just +1. It's not rocket science!
One thing I will say is that with callaway and titleist you can alter the loft and lie independently.
Hi Simon, I took my three and four irons out of my bag. Four years ago. I decided to give a hybrid a go after loaning one from my friend, and found it much easier to use than I thought it would be. I have an adjustable hybrid 21 to 23 degrees and wouldn’t be without it now, and would advise anyone whom hasn’t changed and is thinking of a change give it a go. As we all get older we need all the help we can get. Cheers 🏌🏻♂️
Hi Simon, love the video, as I do with them all. An idea for winter as the opportunity for golf winds down, some chats/longer form videos of talking in your office on various golf topics would be excellent. Always enjoy listening to your thoughts and views.
Great video don't know why older golfers (I mean plus 50s) don't use hybrids more, does make me chuckle when i pull my 19 degree out (get the sniggers from the 30 somethings) and knock it on our 209 yard par 3 over water, they pull out a 5 or 4 iron and come up short in the drink and subsequently look at the ground. I use hybrids a lot to be fair, chipping, brilliant in the wind and cuts through the semi rough better than a long iron. Its not how its how many so they say, what's not to like
I got a 3 + 5 hybrids this year . Very rarely use my 5 iron now . Not sure I need it .They do get it in the air better
Never seen your content before, I'm finding it rather amusing, there's a dry humour in the tone of your speech that puts a rhyme smile on my face.
I renewed the top end of my bag and replaced my 4i with a 4 hybrid, it's so much easier to launch and a great shift from the 4i, I'm yet to work out what the gap is between the 4hybrid and my new St max 5wd, but as you showed in your video the ability to adjust these clubs will help with any gaps that are a bit much.
Replacing long irons with woods or hybrids is a great idea. Freddy Couples' longest iron, apparently, is a 7.
I actually have a Mizuno 4 hybrid (22 deg) as well. It was supposed to replace my 4 iron but it flew too well leaving a gap so I went back and bought the 4 iron anyway. A mate of mine recently bought an 11 wood (yes, callaway big bertha 11) and he loves it. Its all the rage.
Good choice to put the 4h in the bag. I find a 4 degree loft difference between hybrids gives 10 yards carry gapping.
My hybrids definitely improve consistency of contact but tend to want to go left on me.
