PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 36-year-old man accused of killing a dog on Thursday in Lebanon.
According to officials, Michael Healy, 36, was taking care of a property after his father had recently passed. Healy allegedly went to the police to report being attacked by the dog, but had no injuries.

Authorities later discovered that he had entered the residence on South 9th Street in Lebanon just before 5 p.m. and struck the dog several times using a golf club causing its death. Healy supposedly told police that the dog was in the house for security measures as the homeowner recently passed away.
Healy was charged with first-degree animal abuse and was booked into the Linn County Jail.
This investigation is still ongoing.
