I would go get an offensive minded coach, cut Carr, go get Justin Fields to compete with Rattler, find a top-notch defensive coordinator, and start trying to load up on both sides of the ball.

The draft is soo simple. I would fill out this roster with picks that would give us 6 or 7 starters. This is how i would do it. Simple.
Pick players from bigger schools, Especially SEC and Big 10 and so on, who have players that fit your positions of need or holes in your roster. Draft players who have played alot of ball and show they can play on tape. Need a guard, draft a guard from a big school.
Stay away from small school players until the udfa portion of the draft.
Stay away from the projects.
Stay away from the total inexperienced players.
Stay away from injured players.
Stay away from measurement or tape measure warrior, phenomenon prospects
Go with fields get him on a 1 yr deal to proof himself

Stop ! Forget about Sean Payton, Drew Brees, that era is over. Time to start the rebuild, Spencer Rattler did a great job as a rookie QB, with the players he had left on the field. Did we really expect Rattler to come in as a rookie third string QB with limited time under center, and a limited supporting cast on the football field, to take the Saints to the playoffs ? Instead of spending millions on another old QB, build the team around Spencer Rattler. Restructure the contracts of some of the older starting players and use the money to bring in more talent on the offensive and defensive line. We already have a talented rushing and receiving cast of players, You Think. It's a rebuild, the Saints has nothing to lose. If Spencer Rattler is starting QB, next season doing the rebuilding period, and we win 6–8 games, he's our man. But then again, who knows as of now in the NFC south, it only takes 9–10 wins to clinch the division.
I forgot, what do we do with an 11 year overrated over paid average NFL QB like Derek Carr. It looks like we are stuck with him. I guess we just have to take a lesson from Atlanta, with Kirk Cousins, make him second string. Mickey Loomis, Dennis Allen was no Sean Payton and Derek Carr was no Drew Brees. Man, did you blow it.
Until Mrs. Benson fires Mickey Loomis, this team will continue to be broke, heavy in debt, trading away draft stock, and sign backups and practice squad players to be starters because we can never compete in free agency. Loomis has bankrupted this team and its culture. Four straight non playoff seasons and poor draft and money management gets GM's fired. Why is Mrs. Benson insisting on keeping this man that benefited from Payton and Brees??

Hire jessie minter as head coach for saints and robert saleh as defensive coordinator, and keep klint kubiak as offensive coordinator,and draft mason graham with 1st.pick,then 2nd. Arieontae ersery or left guard from alabama tyler, and 3rd. Round Cam skattebo and tight end from lsu. That's championship quality.
Your QB can either win you a Super Bowl or you move on. Period.

Lattimore is another example now of one that got away. He began this year 2-7 and is with Washington in the second round of the playoffs with a young team. One of the worse trades I’ve seen. It was a revenge trade by Loomis.
