The lineup for the third match of TGL is all set. And it does miss the world no.2 Xander Schauffele from the roster. There were rumors that the reigning Open champion would join the LIV Golf in a dramatic move. He had pulled out of the Farmers Insurance Open as well – a home tournament the San Diegan loves to play. But it’s not because of LIV. Rather Schauffele is recovering from an injury.
The two-time major winner has been suffering from a rib injury since late last year. He played through it at the Sentry but now has decided to sit out for a few weeks hoping to recover fully and then tee off. In his absence, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Rickie Fowler will take the mantle of carrying the New York Golf Club forward.
