  1. What's amusing/confusing is there is plenty of polar opposite teaching out there on just about every issue. The truth is different people move differently. Freddy Couples let his trail hand come off the club. One of Tiger's coach called him the most right handed golfer he'd ever seen. As one example.

  2. I emailed you a couple months back and hope that you will eventually respond as I feel that I am able to give a much clearer explanation of these concepts.

  3. There won’t be one in a thousand who has the first clue as to what Brian is talking about. Answer the transition question! Gamma force! Talk sense man!

  4. As Manzella said here use spot on. All this technology has done is confirm what the best instructors have said for over a century. No need to make it hard. Learn the arms and hands and the body will follow.

  5. Might need the same video but in layman’s terms and demonstrating. I understood that what actually needs to happen in transition is releasing from the top like Noren or Nicklaus says he did (and possibly some gama torque (trying to bow the left wrist?) towards impact… but not sure about the latter or doable to combine w positive alpha torque?)

  6. Not sure I understood what Brian was explaining re pitching… anyone? And the drill to avoid that leads to pitching yips?

  7. video would be great if it was more simplified. I found this very confusing. Instructors need to speak like they are talking to a 7 yr old

  8. Im sorry but ive been playing over thirty years at a decent level and i really don't get this. Try again, the subject matter deserves better.

  9. So what about swings that are crossed up at p4? That shallow in the downswing? Wouldn’t it not be possible if there is only a steepening force?

  10. So what about swings that are crossed up at p4? That shallow in the downswing? Wouldn’t it not be possible if there is only a steepening force? He seems to change his definition of what a backswing is as is useful for his argument. In let’s say Matt wolfs case he would be shallowing in downswing but Brian would be calling that shallowing part a backswing move and changing the definition of what the “backswing” is. Correct me if I’m wrong

  11. And too much force across the shaft that makes people be bad drivers? Too much positive alpha torque? The edit doesn’t show Brian’s demonstration long enough and not sure I understand what he said…

  12. I learnt a long time ago that the easiest way to generate a lot of extra distance is to ….. ‘throw’ the club at the ball … 👍🏼

  13. Long video and I still have no clue on what I need to do in transition. Can you please get Brian back and get him to demonstrate what we should be focusing on in transition.

  14. I’d like to know more about the wrists starting to re-cock prior to impact, it was mentioned in the Hackmotion video you did with BManz. That is positive alpha force – pulling on the underside of the shaft – turning into negative alpha force – pushing on the top of the shaft – as I understand it.

  15. What Brian is saying makes sense.. watch David Duval demonstrate his casting feel for a real life example. I think it answers the question, yes that casting/release is REAL and it’s measured in every (good) swing. You have may have to FEEL that deliberately if you apply too much force across the shaft.

  16. Ok, Brian is telling like it is, unfortunately we end up getting a graduate level course in systems mechanics is a 20 minute speech. I think the highlight summary is that the forces we consciously apply to the club don't sync up instantly in the motion of the club as seen on video. So feel and (video) real don't always match up. That doesn't mean one perspective is right and the other is wrong. This is part of the kinematics versus kinetics confusion, which is not intuitive and requires a grad school deep dive. The second high level issue is about the moments and forces that are applied being alpha (twisting), beta (pushing or pulling side to side) and gamma (pushing or pulling up or down). The discussion about these forces gets complex very fast because, as Brian said, they are interconnected. This means that even when you are only trying to push or pull the handle side to side there will be some unintended alpha force on the club head. The final big message is fixing or changing a golf swing is complicated. Watching a swing in slo-mo video and trying to copy it isn't going to work as well as one would assume because there are more things going on in the forces (alpha, beta and gamma) than can be seen in the images.

  17. Give us the headline first so we understand the message. Then it might be a little easier to follow the in-depth explanation.

  18. Felt like the video i jumped into the last 5mins of three day session on something interesting?
