Too many guys lose handfuls of shots every round because they insist on hitting the hallowed flop shot. This is a shot rarely needed and rarely used only in short-sided situations.
You shouldn’t be short siding yourself if you are aiming correctly.
95% of the time, a simple chip with the basic techinque works and in fact, the results are going to be roughly the same and probably better just hitting a normal chip even when short sided.
Hitting over a hazard is daunting but focus on your target and be aggressive. JUST GET IT ON THE GREEN!
Make sure you look beyond the hazard and focus on landing the ball on your spot in the distance! Looking AT the water or bunker or saying to yourself DONT HIT IT IN THE HAZARD means you will put it in the hazard!
