Here’s a simple drill all amateur players should be doing to get their weight shifting through impact. So many golfers are literally just whacking at the ball with their arms hoping that they hit great shots.

Pros are using their body not the arms to hit the ball. A big part of using the body is the weight shift. Once you understand how the weight shifts in the golf swing and start doing this simple drill you will start generating way more power with driver and pure contact with irons.

The way I explain it gives you a way you can remember what to do so you will never forget it into the future. So watch this weight shift tip and start working on this right away at home and at the range. If so, you’ll master it in no time.

  1. Paul, there's a popular YouTube instructor that advocates keeping most of the weight on the forward foot throughout the swing.(including the backswing)

He claims Ben Hogan & others did this.

From watching you & PGA tour pros, this seems incorrect.

  2. This advice you gave me months ago has been key for me to not hitting it fat…I just need to be conscious of my tilt.
    Thanks man…

  3. Question Paul: Big fan by the way and your Body Swing videos were very helpful to my game I'm much more consistent with my ball striking. Can you comment about what I see in modern golf, how the pros are squatting down and using the ground as a source of power, pushing off the ground and using vertical forces. Should amateurs be moving downward or is that something only for the pros to do? Thanks Paul
