I think Mark Williams was spot on when you look back over the the top 7 or 8 players over the last 20 years or so, I think they would all still be winning titles today if they were at their prime.
I was at the Masters 13.1.25. Stephen Henry was a class act. Taking pictures with fans with a fantastic attitude & smiling throughout. What a fantastic gentleman. Class!
Stephen. Were you not coached by the big man Dell Hill? He talks about giving you back your rifle cue action . Why does noone give this man credit not even ronnie? Seems no snooker player wants to make any reference to dell hill and was wondering if you are all controlled not to give thi sman a mention considering he was coaching both dot t abd ronnie in same final and is a proven sucesss with workd champions.
Stephen Lee would be a cracking episode.
Would love to see Steve James on your channel one day, he was a terrific player in his day.
Mark such a genuine guy, top bloke
Get Matthew Stevens on
But all the pros from the 70s 80s and 90s all say they could hit 147 in practice. So the key is taking the practice to the arena right?
I get players scoring is heavier argument, but is one visit snooker heavier?
I’d like to see the statistics on who has the greatest one visit frame snooker. Including counter-attacks. For me, the person who gets the mist one visit and greatest counter theoretically should win more tournaments.
Like I’ve always said, you don’t need to get a century to win a frame. Usually 75 is the target. But I’ve seen players win it with less. Look at Alex Higgins 69 break. So between 69 and 80 you could win the frame with that.
So, who exactly has the most one visit wins? Is it possible to get that statistic?
This may players from the 80s in a different light. Because I know Steve Davies got lots of one visit.
I think Ray Reardon is one of the best of all time at counter-attacks.
I’m pretty sure statistically Ray Reardon was the second best player of the 80s. I recall that he was always in finals of some sort. He was in lots of masters finals whether it was the Irish Welsh or European. And he wants a professional players tournament. And if he wasn’t in the finals, he was always getting into the quarters and semis in tournaments.
He was definitely the second most consistent player. And if it wasn’t for Steve Davies, he may have won more.
@stephen Hendrys Cue Tips can we have a coaching special where a coach like Lee Walker talks through basic principles and stance / sighting etc! That would be awesom
Love the channel. Love snooker and football. English people as a whole don't seem to see snooker as a sport and therefore don't realise the sheer Messi-esque talent they have had in the sport for 30 years called Ronnie O' Sullivan. A genius. Stephen is insane aswell.
Snooker has to be the most difficult sport. If Stephen dedicated himself to snooker like O'Sullivan did, when things got really tough, and seemed like he wouldnt win again (like ronnie 2009/11) Stephen would still be top 16 with Williams and Higgins but would require intense tunnel vision snooker dedication. Its proof that to be the best, talent can give you everything and take you miles away from any competitor like it did for Stephen but to compete for 30 years like the class of 92 (heard that phrase before….) you also need to sacrifice your time and go down the psychology route, go down the safety training route, dedicate your life to the sport, accept years of ranking tournament failures and use that as motivation to work even harder just like mark williams, ronnie, higgins did to get back and compete. Mark fell out of the top 48 in 2008. Stephen doesnt need the hassle and he probably retired in 2012 cos hes minted and dubious of psychological intervention, especially with the yips etc. Even to this day no one apart from O' Sullivan has got near his triple crown haul. Jeeeeees I wrote an essay there sorry lol
Mark is a great trash talker 😂
Get Peter Ebdon on but it might be a long frame
Britannia cues what do you think of them
There was going to be a Selby video last year. After the interview at the Masters yesterday you've got to get him on
I wanna see Stephen vs Jame Wattana again
Williams tip sounds like a constant mis-hit. Awful. His timing must be completely unique.
Love how Mark is constantly slagging Stephen (in a good way) and Stephen just laughs -he said you can't get into darts cos its a sociable sport lol – great friends
It’s like Stephen’s game in the Modern era is Jurassic! Like he doesn’t know now how to win! When he’s watching Trump, Allen and Selby etc.. They know how to win by shuffling their styles when suited-avoiding keeping the same Dinosaur shots
That tip of Marks sounds like its made of glass!
Great video 👍
If steve davis and hendry came through today they would be better players. Not to mention the faster clothes etc.
I haven't watched the whole video so far. But around 22 minutes you're both taking the piss about Stephen being pro again. And this is the first time I've seen someone be on the right lines to fixing the"yips,". I'm no qualified coach, I'm not psychologist, I'm a decent amateur player (at times). To really compete or not, I believe I could make Henry's game better, and I grew up idolising the bloke. Get in touch, no money, you can win pro events again the raw material is there.
These 2 should team up more often. I'm from Llanelli and was saddened about Terry passing, lovely fella. I love Marks attitude to losing, don't let it ruin your life when you know there is an element of chance in all sports and when your ranked in the top 10 there is nothing to worry about. The staggered red routine at the end is great practice for ball control, Stephen will be doing this for the next week
