Woods dropped the ‘Hammer’ before his opening tee shot, which was met with rapturous applause from the crowd.
The ‘Hammer’ is a strategy that can be used by teams when they want a certain hole to be worth double points.
Earlier, Woods walked through a plume of smoke and with the son ‘Eye of the Tiger’ blaring in the background after being introduced into the arena.
After three holes, Woods’ Jupiter Links team is trailing Collin Morikawa’s LA Golf Club 3-0.

Tiger Woods’ first TGL match is here with the legend and his Jupiter Links teammates Kevin Kisner and Max Homa taking on Los Angeles Golf Club’s Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala.
The two teams will battle at Florida’s SoFi Centre from 11am AEDT, with coverage available on Fox Sports.
Woods looked all business as he arrived at the hi-tech venue ahead of the match, refusing to smile as he strode in wearing a black tracksuit and white cap turned backwards.
Wednesday is the first time Woods will feature competitively for TGL, which staged its opening night last week to mixed, albeit largely positive, reviews.

Woods is expected to be a competitive force in the competition, with his golf troubles largely limited to his ability to walk long courses for consecutive days.
His skills, and swing, are said to be in top condition, potentially making him a force in the TGL arena.
Where he and his team could also shine is on the broadcast with Woods, and his teammate Kevin Kisner among the more notorious trash talkers on the PGA Tour.
“Tonight we have Tiger Woods mic’d up playing 2 hours of golf inside a massive Mancave/Content studio, on a team with two other A+ shit talkers, where he doesn’t have to walk up hills or hit out of major championship rough,” golf expert Dan Rapaport noted.
“Tonight has very high potential.”
