  1. This drill places a lot of pressure on the knee. I was doing this drill and my knee popped. My doctor suspects that this is a small meniscus tear; he was not a fan of the drill. If you over 50 and/or have had knee issues (I’ve torn my meniscus before), I would caution against this drill. This may not happen to anyone else that fits the above criteria, but I’m just giving a warning based on my personal experience.

  2. I’ve been told by guys I’ve taken lessons from I slide my back knee towards the ball causing me to lose space in my swing which in return made me have an over the top swing I’d have a terrible ball flight to the right just all around very poor contact I’m most definitely going to take this lesson to the range and hoping I get some results! Thank you gentlemen!

  3. I've tried a lot of different feels to try to fix my early hip extension (without success) and I was almost resigned to it being a permanent part of my swing, but this video has immediately changed that. Even better than just trying to drive the right knee directly towards the left knee (ie not crossing the toeline), I'm also keeping the right knee low and feeling like my right heel stays on the ground for longer. With that, I'm puring my 8 iron more consistently than I've ever been able to in the past 25 years! Thanks so much!

  4. Doesn't work for me. I stay on the right side. Yes, I don't early extend. But rolling over the ball on right foot is not natural. Maybe with practice.

  5. Great drill. Keeping the trail leg straight makes the ”banging” in the shot so much more natural and easy to perform. Have tried lots of other early extension drills without success but this was a game changer. Great details explained by Trevor as well. Thanks!

  6. @tsgolf thanks for the drill it's one I'll share with my students. One question, how do you typically work in swings without the ball under foot while keeping early extension at bay?

  7. Great video! I just have one question though: what was the temperature? I can't tell if it's really warm or really cold? 😁

  8. Easier way to get them to feel the correct motion is pull the right foot back from the target line so the toe is farther from the target line than the heel of the left foot, now hit balls. This forces an inside to square or slightly out path that forces the release to happen late, which is what your really trying to fix by getting rid of the early extension. Another great drill is to hit balls with the hands separated from each other on the grip. Its impossible to hit the ball unless your left hand is leading the right and it also teaches you to maintain the correct lower body position. If your hips advance forward towards the ball while swinging you will completely miss the ball. Your hips have to rotate left then backward which pulls your left shoulder back, then your left arm has to follow the shoulder and your club face will square to the target line. In reality this is what covering the ball is.

  9. Moving your trail foot back a couple of inches helps create room too. Keep your hips and shoulders square to the target.

  10. Eric must have been stunned that after he agreed to an advertising partnership with lab golf, that he'd never putted so well with any putter in his whole life. what are the odds.

  11. erics swing always looks great but with this drill it looks effortless. trevor always doing great things.

  12. I have been struggling with my Driver since trying to rotate better thru impact and this video is a totally ah ha moment. I used to flair my right foot and thought maybe I should straighten it out and maybe help me rotate better. Cant wait to try these drills!

  13. This one is feast or famine for me. I loved the sensation of pushing the right hip back, more than I have ever had before. Different than trying to rotate the hips open. From there, I could push to keep the hip back and hit some awesome shots or shank it more frequently than I ever have before. Didn't have video to show why the shanking was happening but it felt like it happened when I tried to stay down. When I pushed back but then tried to release the right hip, it was better. Looking forward to seeing it on video but curious why the shanking?
