1:58 I do this on 2k 😂😂
I'm glad Wemby grew up in Europe and not America. It is his basketball fundamental and humility are amazing
You know, I wonder if Sochan's bright hair colours make it easier for his teammates to notice him in the corner of their vision.
Wemby is the most versatile defender of all time already
And it's funny that I think his one-on-one defensive stats should be higher but are limited from the amount of players not even trying against him. It definitely shows in the interior defensive stats but it could be even more in his individual stats.
Not top 10 but top 5
How Wemby play is almost equivalent to us playing against 4th grader kid on smaller hoop, feeling like you can block the shit out of everyone🤣
Theres only 3-4 players id take over wemby atm in the NBA
Nope no ceiling. He will have fkn butterfly wings by the time he hits yr 10.
Chef Curry Defensive gravity is wild
1:35 travel
Bro is 7’4 kd
8:30 this is gonna be so annoying in a few more years.. give the spurs more time on perimeter defense and you have another dynasty
We are witnessing the greatest player of all time
What is the 'Lebron' basketball index?
if curry has gravity on offense, Wemby has to have anti-gravity on defense
If he becomes a bit more muscular and stays lean like a KG or AD….he is gonna be close to unstoppable.
His body is not built for longevity. If he is going to have a long term impact on the league he needs to pack on some pounds in muscle to avoid a career shortening injury.
Its crazy to think about how great hes going to be in 5 years
wemby and sochan reminds me of jokic and aaron gordon where the defense is so focused on the star bigman, sochan/gordon cuts and gets a free lob.
It’s terrifying that he is still in a transition period. Not even that it’s the typical 24-28 year old growth, but just genuinely being a sophomore talent with room for things to click further.
Wemby pass like Jokic, score like KD, defend like Gobert the league is cooked
Dude’s a nightmare in both sides
One day in 2150 when every one is 7 ft tall they are all going to look at wemby like they look at wilt
If anyone is breaking LeBron's scoring record, it just may be this guy. Like Bron, he's not just a freak athlete–he's really smart too. Gonna be exciting to see what his ceiling is
We are going to see some great matchups with Wemby vs Chet in the future
I just wish him a long career with no major injury, it's been fun so far watching this 👽 play
Man I hope he stays healthy. Will be fun to see him 10 years down the line.
I just imagine if KD had the kind of defensive presence that Wemby has and I genuinely terrified. If that where Wemby gonna go then whoever it is want to win NBA chip, do it NOW or forever hold your peace lmaoo
The way you illustrate plays is fantastic. Unsure of the greater analysis or anything else you do, but that one thing deserves capitalization.
The only weakness in his game right now is his stamina. Imagine if he could have LeBron's longevity with a health regimen that benefits his body. He's scary RIGHT NOW. He has the chance to be the single greatest individual talent in NBA history.
I'm rooting for him.
he is nothing against the undisputed 9th greatest of all time king james! we praise his name and we pray to him every night. he is my king and yours too.
Dude has GOAT potential. Just has to keep himself focused and healthy unlike a certain lardo in New Orleans
i've been waiting for this
he shoulda won dpoy last season if not for the gobert defense force
Need a Cavs video
@7:53 pause
He’s literally how I use to create my player in nba live back in the days, tall, can shoot 3s does all the blocks,
Awesome video! Much appreciated 💜
he's agile as hell for his height
JOkic dropped 40 on him in back to back games.
zero championship rings. come back when he has some.
Wow im older than the rookies now
Hector Bananabread has no ceiling
As a Spurs fan my biggest issue with. Ic is that he can get into Kobe mode where he’ll take bad shots even when being guarded well. It took Kobe years to get proficient and even then he wasn’t exactly an efficient player. You can see this in his recent game against Giannis where Giannis held him pretty well because Vic kept settling for bad shots and not choosing to punish the smaller Giannis in the paint. He’ll learn… crazy to say this but he may be the best player in the league by next year.
I'm still mad that he doesn't have a hook shot.
all this happens when his team ACTUALLY PASSES to him and not act like little girlies that don't wanna play with with Wemby cuz he's too talented/popular
I could never be nasty to you, Thinking Basketball. I need your elite content. x
It's understandable to be hyped watching him, but talking about him like he will be the goat is probably not reality. As he ages he is going to take a lot of abuse at his position, and if they keep using him as primary ballscreener he's going to take a lot of hits especially in playoffs when guys are going to either go through him or fight to get around him with a lot more force than you see during the early regular season. He takes far too many shots from deep right now although he has improved this year on getting to the rim and playing his role as center. To be goat he will need to be healthy for a long time and come back from whatever injuries he sustains at the same level over a long career. That's much easier said than done and I think a career like Kevin Durant's is much more likely than becoming the goat. SO much has to go right for him to usurp guys in the top 10 and he should settle for being one of the best shot blockers or defenders of all time.
At 35% he's not a poor 3pt shooter, but he is also very high volume which isn't a great winning recipe at his percentage. When he is taking 3's there is no one under the rim to get his rebounds which there needs to be about 2/3 of the time based on his percentage. He's similar to some other high volume shooters from deep like Brandon Miller, Maxey, Trae, and Harden, but the difference is that when they miss there is a center on the floor boxing out and trying to get extra possessions. When Wemby comes up the court and misses a transition 3 there is virtually no chance that the Spurs will get that rebound, and if he is hanging out around the perimeter playing stretch-center while his teammates are shooting it's the same story. It's not a sustainable recipe for success, especially in the post season… there is a reason his OWS has never been very high and this is a huge part of why. He is nearly 8ft tall he should be dominating the offensive glass but is only recording 2.8 offensive boards per 100 possessions right now, a decrease from last year.
Is it fun to watch? extremely. And I dont know of another player with his skillset. But it's probably not going to be a meaningful recipe for team success if he is the primary ball handler, and primary 3pt shooter, and lacking on the offensive glass. Jeremy Sochan is averaging more offensive rebounds than he is and Jeremy is 6'8" while Wemby is 7'4". I don't think I need to spell out how that shouldn't be happening. Wemby's game needs to change to be more center-centric and he could really provide great metrics for winning basketball. He has the ability to lead the league in offensive rebounds but at this moment he doesn't even lead his own team.
