2026 Justin Pipe
Where's Ted Hankey ?
Taylor played at levels back in the 90s they're struggling to reach now…thats how far ahead of his time he was…
2026: phil taylor
I doubt anyone will accomplish what Phil Taylor did. 16 wins then 2nd place is 5 wins. MvG was a young prodigy but only has 3.
Maybe Luke Littler can get 6 wins and become the 2nd greatest but 16 is just ridiculous.
Littler will be 33 years old if he beats Taylor's record and wins every World Champ title in a row. I think the Kids that Littler is inspiring today will be the ones to stop him dominating in future.
Sometimes it's good to remind ourselves of what Taylor achieved.
Those pics are in quite a funny order 😀
The prize money is as simple as they have made it seem coz 14 grand in1996 isnt the same as 14 grand today yes it still not much but not like for like
Darts is fast becoming the biggest thing on sky sports it is so good and exciting to watch Barry Hearn has transformed it into one of the biggest sports to watch on sky.
97 Taylor was so hot 🔥🤣
Walking in a Taylor wonderland!
Taylor averaged 110 in a final 15 years ago beating his biggest rival 7-1 , im glad we have it tighter in the top 16 now
reminds me of kelly slaters domination in surfing 😂
It’s been 500,000 for a while, Should pick it up a bit now
Peter Wright was the last one to win it twice…
Just a pub game in the early days compared to now
Barney is a three time champion but is only shown once. I wonder why?🤔
Phil's still the goat, and will be for a long time to come, his dominance over such a long period of time at world level hasn't been seen in any sport/game in any event that i can think of. As time moves on people will forget just how good he was, which is a bit sad really
Yes Taylor's money a lot less however if you stacked his money in property in good areas it be a few times more especially london
One question will Luke match 16 titles ? Taylor was my all time favourite darts player use to love the walk on with the old players then .
Looking at the talent coming through I think Luke will find it hard to beat Taylor's record
There's no way Littler's getting anywhere near 16. He's likely the best in the world, but the competition is just too good nowadays. In Taylor's day, it was him, then everyone else.
Has Phil Taylor ever won it?
Do you think Luke littler can beat Phil Tyler’s record
Phil Taylor id an asshole, bad charakter. But whi wanders,he was a small worker, small minded guy.
No1 will ever get to Phil’s level! Who wins finals 6-0/7-0! He was a machine
It’s not so much a list of winners as one of those vids that shows how someone ages over 20 years
Poor Phil, he aged horribly
Half a mill enjoy young lad
All that money and I'll bet they don't go to the gym or get an education.
Taylor won 214 tournaments, 85 major titles, 21 finals appearances and 16 total World Championships including an unbelievable 8 straight. He also threw 11 televised 9 darters. Littler is a fantastic young player but the game has changed and the level of competition in the field is just too much for him to top Taylor in titles much less 8 straight. Those records will stand.
0:16 – What happened in 1998 that made the top prize money drop by over half??????
Without phill, no way these players would be earning these amounts, he created this sport… They should really acknowledge him. More.
Phil Taylor, huh! GOAT of darts!
Absolutely dominated by English players
£500,000 since 2019. Barry Hearn needs to up the prize money, especially with all the attention since Littler being on the scene
i believe jelle klaasen won the title in 2006 from van barneveld?
Aaldert
Taylor was in the final 21 finals, Winning 16. That will never be done again.
That's it? Just poor slideshow..? Wasted 150 seconds of my life…
from what we've seen, next year wins Phil Taylor
Handsome and good at throwing, hats off to Phil Taylor
I don’t think anyone will beat Taylor’s record because the level of play and the shorter format in the worlds has increased so much Taylor was a darting god but he never had to compete with the standard of todays players and I don’t mean just the best but the medium players are so much better today than most of the players in Taylor’s era it’s always ifs and buts we should just appreciate littler while he’s playing the way he is phenomenal talent.
That 500k needs to rise.. The amount of money that now generates with young Luke it should be over a million now for the winner..
Very interesting how Adrian Lewis just gradually fell into obscurity. Also interesting how players experience such wild ups and downs, both within a match and during their careers. Remember how good Michael Smith was two years ago? Or how Gerwyn Price couldn’t be beat. Or how Johnny Clayton won the premiere league just a few years ago. It’s a fascinating sport.
"Mein Wurf"
° Will there formed an alliance, to stop … Littler? 🙂
1998, 2001,2002 and 2006. Taylor really is the king of the whitewash…
Price money not gone up for 7 years in this day and age and how popular darts is in general is a p take
