Every player has a different style and comfort, and thus will find that there are a variety of ways to hit a draw every time they intend to.
We present 3 modified golf shots from golfers of varying style and skill, exemplifying why one size fits all does not apply to player specific golfing strategies.
Almost every golfer you’ll come across would much rather learn to hit draws rather than slice a shot.
Making minimal adjustments to our setup will easily eliminate slicing all together and yield the results we desire.
The key to how to hit draws begins in hand placement. Most players are aware that having their grip set on the club in a strong position will likely yield the desired shot.
This tactic will not guarantee results without taking into account the placement of fingers in relation to the palm. Failing to be attentive to these elements will likely result in slicing the ball.
Players must also be mindful to keep a clear path in relation to the clubface. Failing to maintain correct back pivot and hip rotation almost always results in undesired outcomes.
The club requires room and a clear path inside of the target line.
We must acknowledge that all players accomplish draw shots differently, but there are core fundamentals that are absolute for all golfers.
Following through on golf shots with your chest facing the target, creating the sensation of arms swung around the body, leaving the club in full motion until momentum depletes.
Most modern golf courses feature holes that require left to right golf shots. Mastering the draw will give golfers the skills needed to breeze by these difficult holes with clear confidence in their game.
Remember: The club will travel a path that sits slightly right of the clubface position as aimed at impact. This gives the golf ball the needed curve, back towards the target, usually sitting at 12 o’clock.
