Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.

I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

  1. Glad you gave these another go with an appropriate size. Been playing Jumbomax since 2020. Having played both I’d say the ultralite (I play the STR8 Tech version – there are multiple versions now including the Zen Lite which’ll feel more like what you’ll be used to) is the way to go as it won’t alter the swing weight unlike the Tour series you and Pete went with. They’ll be easier to transfer to as well. If you consider how many pros outside Bryson (Also Ultralite not Tour series) who have built up grips e.g. Big Tone, Scotty, Bubba etc with layers and layers of tape (Finau 14?) you’ve got to wonder how standard size with one layer of tape actually fits anyone. I still fight a left miss with them though so interesting the feelings about eliminating the left side. Probably says more about my swing though to be fair. Anyway, I think Rick, if you went ultralite you’d never go back and wonder how you ever played with pencil size grips. I’d be interested to see what your short game guy Dan Grieve would make of them also.

  2. mic drop … no reason to use anything else … and those are the heavy ones that in effect counterbalance the club .. in my use they are better than the ultralight ones

  3. I agree. Pls give them a chance Rick.sry but I quit watching you for awhile because your play and misses were so predictable that I quit for a while.Like the other guy said.I am going to put you back on my watch list.I am happy for you and it was fun watching you again. Love you man…. KEEP Those Grips😂

  4. You certainly played better wedge shots around the greens with them. I think you would need a longer test to really know if they are right for you. I would say you need to get used to them a bit to really make a decision on them. For a first nine holes though, not bad.

  5. Don’t knock these grips until you’ve tried them. Believe me when I say they are a game changer. I’ve gone from a mid to upper 80’s player to a consistent high 70’s low 80’s player. I even shot my age 75 a month ago. You’ll experience 10-20 yards longer with these grips. My hands are extremely large and arthritic so I added the JumboMax XL. You can also continue to work the ball without any problems. Rick needs to keep using them for a month and he’ll never change again.

  6. Why not just kick the ball or throw it if you can't approach the game of playing golf as its meant to be played.

  7. Great video I use the MCC 4+ jumbo grips. It makes a difference to me cause when I use the standard grips it makes it seem like I have to grip it tighter to hold onto the club with the jumbo grips to me. It feels like I’m putting the right pressureon the grips to be able to swing you might not be able to tell in my score lol but I can feel a difference in my grip. Thanks.

  8. It's not rocket science Rick. You need to have a slightly stronger grip than you would with your skinny grips. You'll have a solid baby draw every time, while still eliminating overly spinning it left.

  9. I put 2 jumbo max Medium grips on my fairway woods and immediately took them off and went back to normal grips. Just couldnt do it. Maybe they have success for others but I just couldnt get use to them. Ended up getting 2 align regular sized grips and have hit my woods pretty damn good.

  10. I'm a senior player with arthritis. I have large hands, so I purchased theX- Large grips. It was one of the best decisions I've made. I highly recommend them.

  11. best decision i ever made was going one up from a standard size grip on my driver. i wouldnt do the rest of my bag or go jumbo sized but just going up slightly has been a game changer

  12. U eliminated a 2 way miss. HUGE! Lmao! All these New Driver heads and the Grip obliterated it all. Proper Grip size is Money!

  13. 13:22 making changes is supposed to feel different.. Nothing changes if nothing changes. I thought you hit the ball great.

  14. I switched to Jumbomax grips a few years ago. I actually use a larger size for my driver than the rest of my clubs which are one size smaller. I don't miss left with the driver anymore and it gave me a one-way miss. Scores went down. They are also much better for your hands when you hit the range.
