What a decision. Her competitor is in a tough trap situation with a downhill green. Why didn't she lay up to a full sand/gap wedge distance given the pin wasn't close to the water so a 3rd approach would be much less risky. THen hitting is close or a reasonable distance would have put pressure on Coughlin. She was about 1 foot from hitting the uphill slope near the water. I give her a TON of credit especially hitting a long iron from 180. She's more of a man than I am. Maybe I won't play tomorrow after all 🙂
