Notre Dame All-American Hannah Hidalgo joins the Irish Scoop!

Hannah takes us back to her early basketball days growing up in the New Jersey & New York area. She explains how the growing up in the area and watching Kyrie helped shape her into the person and hooper she is today. Playing at the prestigious Paul VI High School, Hannah became a standout player and balled out in the McDonald’s All-American game, setting a single-game scoring record in that game.

She dives into her recruiting process where she contemplated multiple offers but ultimately ended up landing on Notre Dame because of head coach Niele Ivey. Hannah previews the Fighting Irish’s upcoming season and what fans can expect from the team this year. She also explains what it’s like being a face of women’s college basketball in the NIL era, and what she wants her legacy to be at Notre Dame.

  1. Congrats to my Irish on the victory over SoCal. Love what you are bringing to the sport and Irish nation!! I'm also very excited to continue watching your game grow and following your collegiate and professional career. That being said, I'll chuck your opinion of LBJ being the GOAT to youth and never having the privilege to witness the greatness of how dominant MJ the player was and what he CONSISTENTLY DID to the HoF players in that era (who are top 100 players in NBA history). Nothing at all taken away from LBJ, but MJ, hands down, is, was, and forever will be THE GOAT!! "Google me, Chuck…." ~ Shaq

  2. Go Hannah, I love me some Hannah and the fact that she puts Jesus 1st makes me respect her and love ❤️ her even more

  3. I think that Hannah Hidalgo is the second best player in college basketball. She has the total package – both on offense and offense. Love her game.

  4. Praise the Lord! Hannah has a great personality! Glad to hear about her personal relationship with God her Father! To boldly share her faith in the Lord! She is gifted by God! Great role model for athletes! We need more great role models! Thank you Lord!

  5. Hannah the truth! Crazy she went 3-0 against all of the big games she was looking forward to! They best UT, USC, and Uconn 😤🔥

  6. Hannah, I think you are amazing and I am looking forward to following your career. That being said, regarding the Jordan vs James debate, you are delusional and that’s because you are young and haven’t seen them both play and apparently you seriously haven’t watched Jordan’s multiple highlight videos on YouTube because if you did you’d see the comparison isn’t even close! And no, the talent level nor the toughness and competitiveness of today’s players is not better today than the last 80’s and early 90’s. Btw, today’s players are not stronger or in better shape and players from that era! Have you seen how weak and frail these dudes are today and the amount of flopping that goes on? Hannah, I’ll take MJ, Bird, Hakeem, Tim Duncan, and Magic, all in their prime against any starting five you put up today and I’ll go with the GOATS every time!

  7. Great interview! Very chill and telling. I love her personality on and off the court.

My new CC. No bs. I've been binging her games for 2 weeks.

  8. The interview was a breath of fresh air until the convo reach the Jordan /Lebron topic! I scrolled then..I luv Hannah's game, the mentality, the passion she plays with etc, etc! By she's likely too young or a tad inexperienced to be talking about basketball history! There's no comparison anywhere in the modern game to Jordan's legacy during their Championships run! Having a long career as Lebron's doing is deserving of his props for his durability but nothing close to Jordan's legacy! Unless an individual actually attended a Jordan's game back then.. You was never gonna get that "WOW" experience of seeing his performance live compared to watching the game on television! As a Philly native I saw and attended a lot of games at Madison Square Garden, the Spectrum in Philly and the Boston Garden! I've seen live Larry Bird, Dr J, Moses Malone, Kareem, Reggie Miller, Ewing, The Dream, Allen Iverson, Barkley, Shaq, Magic, Kobe, The Mailman and most of the 80's-90's elite playmakers and shooters..I've gotten a ton of signed jerseys, sneakers and caps from most of them! My inventory is huge from the years collecting them! These were tremendous athletes that elevated the game to the phenomenal global acceptance it is today! Today they're killing the game with the amount of 3's being jacked up by every team in the NBA! There's no creativity, no skills displayed, no flair or imagination going to the hoop or getting by your defender and eluding the defense to get an open shot! It's come down the court pass the ball twice and jack up a 3 ball..It's boring! Credit Curry..Two exciting players makes watching an NBA game worth the effort! Ant Man and the Greek Freak..they're both talented, creative and goes to the hoop!

  9. Great interview, love her game! Only issue is the Lebron/Jordan bit. Youngsters always talk down on that era until they see highlights and realize those 80s & 90s players wouod dominate today. No load management, plus todays ppayers are too soft to survive those old school physicalities…

  10. Hannah is tripping, man, lol. The game was way more competitive in Jordan’s day. Teams actually played defense. If you came in the paint you were getting wrecked. Now everybody just kicks it out and shoots threes and they don’t play defense.

  11. Hannah, congrats to you and your teammates, you all have put in the WORK to level up all your games! JC good luck against Georgia, you have been a HUGE part of this 2024 season, go walk those Dogs! 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺

  12. GOD bless you young lady of the LORD JESUS CHRIST u on the right Path my all your dreams come true u are a blessing and light to the World
