    A word on the Falcons:
    The experts said the Falcons were idiots to pay Cousins and draft Penix.

    They said they wanted to solve the QB problem immediately and for the long term. They said with a good record, next year they would have a bad draft pick in the first round. They said this year's QB class was incredible and you can't expect and the 1983 class and the 2024 class do not happen every year.
    QB upgrade this year? Check
    QB upgrade long term? Check
    Current draft order? 19th
    Best QB in 2025 draft : Sanders. after him, who is worth trading up for? With all the teams that need a QB, what would it take to move up and would the odds of success be worth it?
    Yes, they paid a lot for Cousins. But they wanted to make the playoffs (which is possible if they can get by Washington) and they wanted an upgrade in QB this year and a long term answer, so maybe it was worth it. Arthur Blank writes the check, so it is nobodies worry except for him.
    Here is the funny thing, the experts screamed :
    Too much for Cousins
    Why draft Penix
    Cousins is a monster! Worth every Penny
    Don't start Penix! No rookie has ever succeeded in a role like this one! NONE
    Why didn't they start Penix on day one? He's amazing!

    I would argue that the experts were wrong on every count and the Falcons were right,
    BTW, I am a Seahawks fan. I live in the Seattle area.

    We need to fire whoever tried to rid Ryan out the building for Watson, he shoulda been able to retire gracefully and stayed another yr instead of the trade . His arm was getting weaker but he just needed a running back like bijan to make it happen late in his career

    He didn't do much. They played the Giants, for gods sake. Falcons defense won them the game. Everyone needs to cool their jets.

    Matt Ryan deserves to make the NFL Hall of Fame just based on how he dealt with coming to the Falcons with the pressure of replacing Vick and the $hit show of what was going on with the organization. Plus his numbers he put up over his career.
