I get what you're trying to do, but I think what we have here is confirmation bias. The dart analogy is a bit strange. Even if the casual person fully understood, you can still take a divot with this technique. Hopefully all the greenskeepers don't hold you responsible for every dipshit that decides the first place to practice this is on the actual green….
Maybe use this for an example of how to hit off a tight lie, hardpan, cart path, etc…. Chipping on the green is such a weird lesson
