The Vikings are on the path to the playoffs, with two important games left that could decide whether they’re the No. 1 seed in the NFC or the No. 5 seed. Matthew Coller is joined by former Vikings lineman Jeremiah Sirles to discuss the Vikings’ run to the playoffs and compare Sam Darnold to the other playoff quarterbacks.

Great stuff. Have. Merry Christmas
I love this pod! Skol from Houston, Texas!
Happy Holidays!!
As a lawyer who pays attention to what people say, Darnold sent a clear message the other day when he said, "There's no place I'd rather be." He wants to come back to the Vikings, and if he believes his future is here, they will make a reasonable deal.
Mathew has done a fantastic job this year .
The QB comparison got a little dyslexic. Taking Jayden Daniels over Darnold is quite the take. Very interesting though!
It's always refreshing to listen to offensive lineman speak. Subjugation? Beautiful.
However, let's slow down on all the praise for Darnold and his last touchdown pass. Jefferson made that happen, and if that's an interception, then we're all saying Darnold was trying to play hero ball. It's also relative.
Happy Holidays, Let’s enjoy this season it wasn’t expected to be this good
It's OK to have a bad game but not in the playoffs I didn't realize how many time the packers had the 1 seed playing at green bay and got beat the number seed would be nice but the playoffs are the most important
I've heard football analysts refer to KOC as "The Quarterback Whisperer"… and that would explain a lot if you think of Kirk Cousins… Don't you think the industry has learned a lesson there? And don't we want to see what JJ McCarthy can do BEFORE we give up Mr. Darnold? Do you think Sam believes he can take this skill set and achieve success without a Quarterback Whisperer? You'd almost think he'd REALLY have to think about staying if possible. And that's the one thing that has gotten to me… all the changes to the roster from year to year. In didn't used to be so volatile did it? We could root for largely the same team year after year…. but some years these players are all strangers to us.
win, lose, or draw…. this season is so much fun. Im having a blast watching this team, how they have come together. Only downer would be to lose early in the playoffs.
Can we talk about who the Packers have beaten. I went through their schedule and most of the teams the beat were injured. We beat 49ers at full strength, same with Texans. Packers played both those teams 2nd or 3rd strings. I'll like to see them play the Rams now. Of course we played a full strength Rams team
No one is talking about Will the Thrill and how good our special teams has been to help complete this team.
It's a new era of Vikings football, the Wilfs have turned them into a 1st class organization! Best owners in the league.
Darnold has elevated O'Connell and we'll see if he can help O'Connell reach his ceiling.
22% not trailing doesn't equal 78% with a lead.
Games begin tied.
Cashman is the most essential and most irreplaceable defender.
It was awesome to see the linemen go nuts while picking up Sam after the Jefferson TD. Just a small example of the chemistry he instills in the team. The leadership, toughness, and boldness Sam operates with is just different.
In a league that has rules set up for the passing game, there is only way the Vikes can win a SB. The play of Sam Darnold. It’s simple and intriguing at the same time because no one has any idea where his ceiling is. The man is getting better every week.
The football world is watching if Minnesota Vikings will morph to be a New York Jets to let Sam Donald walk?
There is a reason many thought Darnold could have been the #1 overall pick. He was a stud in college. Look back at the games this year, and how many big throws he has made. And under constant pressure. He has 12 games with 100+ passer rating. Viking record. Can he be this good next year? Actually I think he could even be better with another year with the team and a better O-line.
I always look forward to hearing both of your perspectives.
Vike's last 8 wins against teams with mediocre records. How they preform in the next two games will be their litmus test…
Jeremiah proves that the vast majority of the talking heads are just desperate to create controversy. He focuses on facts, information and considered analysis. Plus he is really funny.
Of Course,This New Playoff System Is Design To Squeeze Out SEC Teams!SEC Kryptonite Is The Cold Weather.Without This So-Called Playoffs,Back In The Good Old Days Of The BCS,When #1 Played #2,At Least They Where Playing In Warm City Climate. These Playoffs Need To Be Seriously Tweaked To Make Me A Believer!
Nobody has mentioned the first quarter 4th down call. That was a play of the day
25:55 Herbert has loser intangibles, he's kurt cousins with legs.
C’mon man how you can even consider not picking the Vikings?ca’mon man,,,at home with all at stake gotta believe lol
I believe Sam has to win at least 2 playoff games to be taken seriously for resigning. Great QB but Vikings need some playoff success to wash the stain Cousin's left. If we lose first game then all bets are off. Just mvho. Merry Christmas all.
It took 39 minutes for Sirles to say #1 issue-stopping Jacobs and their running game. If they are consistently in short yardage due to Jacobs getting 5-7 yards each run, will be a challenge
You guys are doing a good job, thanks for being fair to the Vikings. Skol Vikings let's go baby, do the damn thing.
What coaching staff would throw their success out the door and risk it again because they have seen some rebuild potential in a first round pick? Keep both. Darnold needs us as much as we need him.
